I think mine is seeking a friend for the end of the world. It shocks me at the end every time I watch it and leaves me with such a strange feeling. I also enjoyed these final hours and contagion.

Good call with Contagion, great film I am a fan of the Road.....just something about it, feels like one of the more realistic SHTF films. Depressing... For good old shoot em up action I like the Dawn of the Dead remake

The Book of Eli takes the cake followed by I am Legend. Just a shame for the religious undertone of Eli

Fortunately, your craving for twinkies can be satisfied in most capital cities

The Book of Eli takes the cake followed by I am Legend. Just a shame for the religious undertone of Eli The bible is a really important part of millions of peoples lives in the world! It contains the history of the Jewish people and the beginnings of the Christian faith! The Jewish scribes who copied the texts had to be incredibly accurate even down to the last jot and tittle! Eli has memorised every part of that braille bible down to the last jot and tittle! Much of what is written in the bible has been confirmed by archaeology, and yes even the science of DNA has traced every living human male on earth to one man (through tracing the Y gene back), they have also done the same for the female X, and traced humanity back to one woman science calls mitochondrial Eve! Even if you don't like the religious undertones try to see the religious texts of various faiths as history books!

For me there is only one movie that gets close to giving movie goers a taste of reality and to be honest even today its a movie that I find more horrifying then anything Hollywood has vomited out in the last 30 years
You know a movie is good when they have to put a disclaimer at the start of it

That looks a bit like the pommy movie Threads, from the early 1980s. Special effects etc look crap now, but apparently it was only shown once on TV in the UK and never again due to scaring everyone so much. I rewatched The Day After Tomorrow a few weeks ago. Dumb story, but OK for a disaster movie.

Have seen both Threads and Day After, I preferred Threads but my favourite from the 80's is this animated one based on a comic book I read when a teen!

1. It nearly never got aired anywhere as the director and producers refused to put in the move a statement claiming the Russians used Nukes 1st against NATO forces so the US government wanted the pull pulled on the whole thing
2. Before it was allowed to be aired the US president had ot have a private viewing and had to give the nod as to if it was to be aired or not

Anyone seen 10 Cloverfield Lane? I was extremely jealous of his preps! Also serves as a reminder why you don't try to help strangers...
