The problem with their approach is that it is based in fact and has almost no political leverage. This was the problem of the right until recent times as shown in the US election. The emotional language needs to be leveraged to properly persuade as it's not the politicans you need to poke at but the people who vote for them.
I'm not versed well in political language, though he's an amateurs go at it and something the SSAA ought to adopt to actually make a difference. "How dare our politicians secretly pour what could be hundreds of millions of tax payer money down the drain year after year, tens of thousands of hours of police time, time that these same police could be investigating gun crimes and prosecuting the evil criminals that us gun owners want to see in prison. They waste all of the good people's money on ideas that don't work, they hide it because they know it doesn't do anything. Look at Canada, they did the smart think and threw out registration knowing that it didn't reduce crime and saved millions and millions of dollars. They understood that criminals ignore the law.
Finally why do politicians paint mums and dads, families, who play our sport, a sport bigger than AFL to be criminals? Why are they pawns in the political games of these people who are supposed to represent them. The facts are these same families as a group have the lowest levels of domestic violence and assault of any population in the country, they are vetted to be owners. Their example instead ought to be lionized for the whole community instead of being targets of abuse and bigotry. Stop wasting our money, stop picking on our families, we're Australian citizens"
... if they weren't feckless, that's the approach and I'm sure a better writer would do a better job than me. Hit them in the people power.

Well according to the ssaa the AG admitted they fooked up with the wording of the pistol clause. It was supposed to be the same competitions that are in the former NFA, but some clerical error put less in. The AG said that the document was supposed to be amended to show this by close of business today, but as yet still the original version is up on the AG website.

There a new version up. 7's reference of 14c has been changed to 14bi. Which should mean any event which allows sporting handguns should be able to be approved.
