I don't think Kim has a death wish to fire the first shot at USA or Australia, but will Donald show restraint.... If the US lets fly with something Kim would scream for help from China which he would likely get....then it could be on since we are making the Chinese uncomfortable with a fleet of war ships excersizing freedom of navigation just off their coast.

The United States asserted Tuesday that North Korea’s latest missile launch was indeed an intercontinental ballistic missile, as the North had boasted and the U.S. and South Korea had feared. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called it a ‘‘new escalation of the threat’’ to the U.S.
In a show of force directly responding to North Korea’s provocation, U.S. and South Korean soldiers fired ‘‘deep strike’’ precision missiles into South Korean territorial waters on Tuesday, U.S. military officials in Seoul said. The missile firings demonstrated U.S.-South Korean solidarity, the U.S. Eighth Army said in a statement.

The problem I have is with harm to civilians; just as Germany was divided years ago because of political regimes, Korea has experienced something similar. The difference is that Germany was reunified; too many Korean families are split - and too many are being killed - by these dickhead politicians.
While I'm all for some uses of nukes (parts of the Middle East, for example), I'd rather see some beasts simply have their heads cut off.

I'm a bit worried by the snippet I heard from CNN on the radio this arvo - Beijing and Moscow agree with each other that the US should withdraw from S.Korea "to de-escalate tensions" in return for NK halting their nuclear weapons development. Not that either NK or the US would comply with such an agreement
Aside from how vulnerable this would leave S.Korea, it is starting to look like a third front for Putin to twist Trump's arm up his back

My take on the latest developments are that Donald is not going to allow NK to remain a threat to the USA so he is talking as if he is checking out military options... If Kim feels he is cornered he will let fly, things seem far worse now then the Cuban crisis in which it was level heads playing chess.

We'll have to see what fireworks erupt at the G20 meeting in Germany in a few days. Trump, Putin and Xi in a room together will no doubt be pretty tense.

I don't know why they don't deal with them quietly and send a virus through their nuke/missile systems like they did with the Iranians and the stuknik virus. No bombing, no killing needed

Excellent. The planet could use a good cull. LOL be careful what you wish for it might come true.... Trump has now painted himself into a corner. After the UN back by US have put very harsh sanctions onto N.Korea, Kim in his wisdom again threatens the US, and reports came out from Japan that N.Korea now have miniaturised nuclear bombs that can be placed on a rocket. So Trump threaded N.Korea to stop making threats or face "fire and fury" that the world has never seen before. N.Korea hours later responded by threatened to nuke Guam a big US air base in the pacific. It is politically complicated as Russia and China share a border with N.Koera and don't want a US ally on their doorstep, if US attack N.korea Australia is bound to help the US which will cause major trade problems with China and the demise of the Australian economy. All Australian fuel is imported from Singapore in the South China sea - this can end very badly. ...... keep the preps going.
