We can't have those here, Bce1, but most of us can have the remington 7615, which is much the same.

I looked at that as a well. In a school boy way I just like the look 😀 Why banned? Almost identical to the 7615 tactical version.

It runs afoul of the 'military style' appearance laws. Although the WFA1 is legal in some states.
Our laws make no sense.

I ended up going with the Tikka .308 CTR as my carbine (if 20" barrel qualifies as a carbine). It's a reasonably light rifle to carry and its accuracy and smooth action has a smile on my face already. Awesome choice milspec! Tikka CTR is top shelf! Here's another neat little package! I don't know how I missed that correct me if im wrong but that looks like an FR8 special purpose rifle I wished I never sold the one I had but man it was loud as hell

grumble Yes it's an FR8 that's been modded to become a very practical carbine by the looks of it.

Does anyone have a hawke brand of scope, or know if they are alright? Looking around for scopes to go on a .22.
Hawke have one for .22, zero in at 50m and the reticle has markings for different distances, up to 200m.

Ruger Gunsite Scout in 308 or 223! The action is crunchy as fook, but they are a handy little pop-gun and are easy to cart around

I love these agonisingly long theorising articles. Just have a bolt .308 and a .22 and be done with it. If need be ... just the .308.

Do you spend time practicing with the red-dot at night? We used to have a 200l drum on a long rope hanging from another rope suspended between two trees. Get the drum swinging around in the dark (a tiny bit of moon or twighlight is required) and then blaze away at close range. Good times!
