Gunshops in wa were forced to close at 12 today. Yup 😡😡 waiting to find out what the restrictions are on us buying ammo, and what hoops we have to jump thru to get it, and where we can get it from! |

As expected NZ had a run on the gun shops also , the media also filmed the queues , portraying a mass armament .
But they forget all the camp/self reliance gear that those shops stock.
And when your facing a country wide month long Lockdown within hours, you kind of need freeze dried goods , camp stoves etc.
Incidentally we're into day 2 of Lockdown , all hunting and fishing ( including club sport shooting of any kind) is currently banned and policed.
Tramping / hiking etc is also banned.
Even driving to a beach is forbidden.
Basically only allowed to walk around the block .
No other driving is permitted except to pharmacy / doc's or supermarket ...

What about driving to work, driving to check up on an elderly parent? Is Jacinta a heartless @#$%, or was your list a bit short? My list was short , basically there is no more work mate. As of 3 days ago were all unemployed , unless your deemed an "essential worker" ie health care , food production , insurance , banking , police , fire , ambos , NZDF , supermarket worker , service station . Everyone must stay home. Elderly not allowed out at all and you cannot visit ! The Govt finance ministry came up with a Covid wage subsidy , which after tax (yes they tax it ) doesn't come close to even our mortgage payments and were expecting to be lockeddown for up to 3 months. Its basically home detention. But the alternative is mass casualties like Italy etc , so we're bugging in ! The whole city is a ghost town , police patrols roam the streets in search of quarantine breachers , and they will eventually start to arrest people. Of course rural folks can hardly be patrolled so crime and is going up along with domestic violence in all areas . Police scanners in the non encrypted areas are off the Richter with call outs |

I wish them luck, it's going the other direction though. My bet is registered guns will be stolen by Police in the next few weeks. Then they'll be too hard to store, or contaminated or some shit and all destroyed... except the ones that they keep for themselves like last time

Our saving grace is our numbers , almost 1 million LAFO Australia wide word will get out when this starts to happen hopefully , and who knows how many people may not be home when the doorknocking starts …. Also the good ol " public safety " excuse will be given for the bans and confiscations  |

They won't doorknock, you're right. There's too many of us. But they know who we are if they do an NZ style confiscation and will come for us if we don't comply

I doubt it will happen, too many other things going on now to stir the pot with out a real reason.
If they did it would spread like wildfire across the country over the internet at a time when they want to keep everyone calm and indoors they would end up with a million pissed off firearms owners with nothing better to do, if everything has been shut down by then, than rally and cause trouble for them.
They don't have the numbers to contain all those firearms owners or fine/lock up everyone. The government would be seen as a huge failure at home by the people and internationally for not being able to keep everyone in home isolation and for directly causing huge protests at a time when they should have been focused on things of far greater importance.
IMO its really not the time for them to stir any group up as the group they harass has the advantage right now with just the possibility of protests alone would cause huge issues for the government in the current climate.

Nz under Lockdown has ordered a stop to all post and only essential courier service products like medical.
Anybody caught trading is dealt with by the Govt .
Its a total crack down , we cannot do anything.

I am not in NSW anymore but I would like to see every single pending private purchase goes thru NSWPOL! In NSW private transfer is usually facilitated by gunshops for about $25 (all they do is sight the PTA and license of buyer, plus license and rego paper seller and send in the top half of the PTA). The law specifically says police station can be used for this provided that there is no gun dealers available nearly (something like 100km?).... Now there are NO operational dealers so we must go to the cop shop for it.
