It seems the latest thing to come out of China that is dangerous to people and animals is wall board, dry wall tainted with sulfur and possibly other chemicals...
I believe things like this started a while ago now with tainted, poison pet foods.. Then tainted baby formula.. Something else about that time also, I don't recall this moment.. Now dry wall that is possibly going to make people sick.. As much as I don't trust politicians, I have to agree with the guy saying ...how does 90 million tons slip past with seemingly no inspection.... ??
It has been a while ago, but I also remember a little know study saying China made cast iron cook ware was made with low quality, questionable materials...
Facts, details, questions, thoughts....

Don't forget flammable cladding, and dodgy electrical cabling.

It's the typical PRC manufacturing attitude. Many over there think we are stupid and don't know what they are doing. Perhaps they are right.

China is simply fulfilling the demand for cheap and inferior products. Like many other companies throughout the western world have done and continue to do. Plenty of western companies (big and small) don't give a damn about customer safety because the reward outweighs the risk. The fault lies more in the countries/governments that allow it. Govts have reduced 'red tape' in effort to streamline and cut costs so business can make more profit. And the loser is the consumer.

Don't forget the frozen berry saga from a couple of years ago where China was caught fertilising their fruit trees with human poop and than selling it on to us as frozen produce.

My family policy- Do not buy or consume any foodstuffs labelled "Made in China" ever, even stuff that is typically Asian such as Soy Sauce, Noodles etc, etc. Make sure you thoroughly wash all clothing especially "Made in China" before wearing first time, be very cautious with kitchen utensils and equipment "Made in China" wash very thoroughly before first use and avoid stuff like Cast Iron "Made in China" , they could be a toxic nightmare! Do not buy cosmetics or hygiene items "Made in China" (toothpaste "Made in China" not me mate!). Additionally I'm not saying stuff coming out of Vietnam, Thailand or India is necessarily any better, but as a well documented fact, China for us is where we draw the line.

We are he same but it has become a bit of a game of “hide chinese shit” in everything you can buy. Leggos used to sell to tomato paste using aussie toms, then they sneakily swapped to chinese tomatoes. I was disgusted because at the time about 5-7 years ago there was no alternative in my shop than chimese tomato paste. They have since changed back to aussie toms but it just goes to show that if you want to avoid chinese food you have to look at every label. I have not bought any leggos product since. a small protest, but grimly satisfying. The other nefarious term is made in …. using products from fark knows where. i avoid those too. It’s fatiguing to do this every time knowing some sly company can just slip in what ever they want into what you buy. they’ll claim they can’t get certain things in Australia at certain times and i’ll claim that’s bs and to try harder.

Watch out for stuff labelled "Product of New Zealand" it's usually bulk shipped from places like China packaged in NZ as a "product" and then shipped to Oz!

For a short time, a while ago now the package said made in China.. That soon changed to ..made with ingredients from other sources.. When I called to ask about that, they stonewalled with the repeated line ..made in North America... which translated to ..made in Mexico from China materials...
So.. We only buy store brand corn flakes which may or may not be any different.. But they sure as hell are not Kelloggs..

What p..sses me off is the Made in Australia from "local and imported ingredients" and doesn't tell where they were imported from.
Better get moving, rotary hoeing a potato patch.
Truth is just another misconception.

Made in NZ is also often code for Made in China, thanks to NZs practically non-existant country of origin regulations. Many PRC companies use NZ as a backdoor to get their products into Australia without disclosing where it came from. Edit: just realised you said this same thing later on.

Whilst the idea sounds great I fear it is so limited and so targeted that it is likely to only hurt those small businesses that compete with the multinational restaurant chains. If the Government were truly serious they would implement strong regulations across the board for all food and include the history of the supply chain from where the ingredients were grown, where they were processed, where they were packaged etc. But I can't imagine any government doing that.

"Made in China"...for external use only.
"I was caught shoplifting in Tehran", he said, offhandedly.

Right bushdoc2, its WW3 with taglines!
I tried to follow the science, but it was simply not there. Then I followed the money. that's where I found the science.

Mars bars were made in china for a long while there while "mars upgraded their Australia processing facilities" There seriously needs to be a full rewrite of the food standards labelling for country of origin labelling for ingredients.
