"So when we get dragged by the US into a war over Taiwan the Chinese will make their displeasure felt by cutting our cables, blockading our sea routes and launching the biggest cyber attack the world has ever seen. No need for bombs or invasions."
The new warfare is cyber.....Cut off the comms, cut off trade and the country collapses into the void.
A wise man can see more from the bottom of the well than a fool from the top of a mountain.

Apart from the military part, he drove through a blizzard in an area without cellphone coverage, without any other form of communication, with his 3yo son. He slid off the road and got stuck in below zero conditions, without extreme cold weather gear, so he lights a candle inside his vehicle to keep warm, which is pretty risky. Then he leaves his vehicle to try to make it to a main road. Prepping rule number 1 is don’t make stupid choices. This guy fails miserably. And on top of that. he is a chronic over-simplifier.
"Fear cripples people. Not doing anything in an emergency situation can cost you your life."
It is just as true that: Fear makes you cautious and sharpens your senses. Quickly doing the wrong thing can be worse than initially doing nothing at all.
High level survival requires a broad set of behaviors and skills and the ability to select the right combination for the challenge being faced.

I worked with a young postie who left to drive trucks in WA. His truck broke down so he tried to walk to the nearest station. They found his body under a bush. Doing nothing was his best option. Searchers found his truck first then used an aboriginal tracker to locate his body. The ‘expert with 25 years experience’ is an idiot.

The slow moving train smash of the economy is starting to show major problems. In 2008 GFC it was almost entirely related to house loans in the US, now car loans, commercial real estate, housing etc. are all coming to the surface. I hear from sources in the US that the car repo guys are flat out and cant keep up with work load. In Australia friends of mine in trucking said things have suddenly got quite - 6 months ago huge demand and struggeling to get drives now thing have slowed down and cutting back on work hours. Australian vehicle market is also in trouble, one can go to any dealer now and there is stock available. I am for the first time in decades now looking for a new vehicle as have changed jobs and no longer get a company supplied vehicle. Was looking a the Pajero sport and old reliable they still have 2023 models in stock at $6k discount, and offering $2.5k free fuel card on new cars. Isuzu was the same also had 2023 run outs. Jeep that is a brand and reliability issue there are also huge discounts and incentives. Nearly 40% Of Cars Financed Since 2022 Are Underwaterwww.zerohedge.com/markets/nearly-40-cars-financed-2022-are-underwaterThe delayed day of reckoning has arrived for millions of Americans who purchased vehicles during the pandemic auto boom. Many are now finding themselves trapped in a shitstorm of negative equity and burdened by costly monthly payments, all while low- and mid-tier consumers face mounting financial strain amid elevated inflation and high interest rates.

Fight for free speech is on and heating up with Trump win and Musk - refusing to sensor "X". If the political left get their way it will be burning books and end of free speech.. Leftists Leave X For Bluesky Only To Overwhelm Site With Mass Censorship Demandswww.zerohedge.com/political/leftists-leave-x-bluesky-only-overwhelm-site-mass-censorship-demandsDestination? Bluesky, a social media platform which is trying to recreate the progressive cancel culture hellscape of 2020 Twitter. It was created by former longtime Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, who later left the organization. The company recently reported an increase of 3 million users since October, rising to 15 million total users in November. Compare this to X with its reported user base of over 600 million and it's easy to see why the political left was so enraged by the sale of the company to Musk with his abhorrent free speech policies. It didn't take very long for the new arrivals to saturate the platform with censorship demands, post flagging and general complaints about other users. Bluesky gave notice recently that in only 24 hours the site was inundated with over 42,000 reports and the censorship requests have expanded to over 3000 flags per hour.

US rushing to send money to Ukraine prior to Trump taking over the Whitehouse. Biden approved long-range missiles to hit deep within Russia. Russia vows retaliation, Ex-US general stating we are now at war with Russia. This is a major escalation. Russia is pushing hard in Ukraine to get territory before winter sets in and Trump interferes. Russian officials say Biden decision to let Ukraine fire missiles deep into Russia could lead to world warwww.cbsnews.com/news/russia-ukraine-war-biden-decision-us-missiles-atacms-warnings-from-moscow/President Biden's decision to allow Ukraine to fire U.S.-made and supplied missiles deeper into Russia — a major policy shift announced over the weekend after months of intense lobbying by Kyiv — has drawn a furious response from Moscow. While there was no immediate reaction directly from the man who launched the nearly three-year war on his neighboring nation, lawmakers aligned with President Vladimir Putin in Russia said Monday that the move was unacceptable and warned it could lead to a third world war. The Nastys in the 1930s and 40s were radical leftist socialists. Moustache guy was a member of the communist party too before forming his own socialist party. Most leftists have absolutely no clue as to what their ideology is, just so long as their opposition is silenced. Doesn't matter to them if their opposition is censored, sent to gulags or concentration camps. It's all the same to them.

Russia vows 'tangible' response if US missiles used against its territorywww.bbc.com/news/articles/crr91nn9n79oOf all of the recent news, this one is the one that I see the most potential for risk. Putin has been decidedly quiet of late. I agree with the view that they'll respond. It'll be how they respond that will be the concerning part. Launching into kinetic warfare when there's about to be a change of the guard in the US which will very likely have extremely favourable conditions for Russia would be a bad move for them, and Putin (for all that he's as much of a nutter as most dictators) knows that. But if they didn't punt a few rounds back in retaliation they'd look weak. And he knows that. Punting a few rounds definitely risks all out war with the US though. That leads me to the rabid dog backed into a corner conclusion and I don't think anyone wants that. There's no way that Biden didn't know what the outcome of this decision would be. No. Possible. Way. I've always put him in the doddering old dude who probably means well but is largely suffering from elder abuse by his own administration. But this move seems outright spiteful and destructive. Without context it's an insane move. What's scarier is that he - and his administration - have felt no need to provide context. Which I guess really does provide all the context you need.

You cant hold Biden to blame, he is a dementated old man, being manipulated behind the scenes by the elites, any more than you can blame a demented grandma in the home for screaming at the staff. He has no idea what he is signing. Hopefully, Russia will continue to show restraint. The fact they managed to intercept 4 1/2 out of 5 missiles shows' they have some capacity for defense against these missiles. Perhaps they are being inertially guided and not GPS guided, in which case the USA can truthfully say they were not involved in the targeting process and negate Putin's claim that he will use nukes because they Americans were involved in the targeting process via supplying satellite data to Ukraine. Expect a retaliation of some kind, perhaps a FOAB dropped on Ukraine. FOAB is the Ruski equivalent of the USA MOAB, Father of all bombs. Another undersea cable has been damaged, the 2nd in 3 days. One could have been a dragged anchor, two is deliberate interference. Got you independent comms organized ? Satellites will also go down as the backhauls and sync travels via terrestrial cable. halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/news-selections/world-news/second-undersea-communications-cable-cutDoes your Govt care this much about you ?? halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/news-selections/world-news/russia-deploying-portable-nuclear-shelters-for-citizensI believe that someone is trying to send us a message, but hardly anyone is listening…

The Dems want a full blown war as a way of initiating serious Chaos. I also reckon Trump better have excellent security going forward because the ideal 1-2 blow from the Dems will be to bump trump AND start a major Europe-wide war.

Surely Putin will sit tight until after Trump is sworn in (or assassinated - whichever comes first) before doing anything against US targets.

I suspect Trump has already been on the blower to Putin asking him to hold off for a bit. He might also even be able to give Putin the co ordinates for the next missile so it can be intercepted, or someone in his sphere of influence has that info available if Trump doesn't want to get directly involved.
The next president of the USA after Trump may well be Musk......
Mistakes are only mistakes if you don't learn from them.

They've got 5 witnesses saying they were in fear of the woman with the knife and the police spent a long time trying to get her to put it down, so he is very unlikely to be convicted. This isn't the authoritarian covid power trip that many police went on. Regardless of how slow she was, if you've got someone with a knife in a nursing home who is threatening others, she had to be disarmed. It wasn't the taser that killed her either. She fell awkwardly (not surprising) and hit her head on way down. Regardless of age, you can't go threatening people with a knife and not expect serious consequences.

Those missles were definitely not given approval to be used to try and aggravate Russia and make Trump's job harder. That would be silly...
