GN should at least get on an episode of 'Grand Designs' ... Kevin Mcleod would go for it. My truck was on an episode of "Worlds most extreme homes" a few years ago, they flew a camera crew out from the UK. Still showing on cable in the US I think as I occasionally get an email from a viewer.

Hey Grey...please don't forget to post those pics across the ditch! The folks at prepnz would love to see them (especially Tails, as he's building his little river lodge out of them)...cheers, (Admin) Pion... OK, will do soon.

This is just all kinds of awesome ... GN you should have your own TV show! I'm sure plenty would watch it. It'd put 'The Block' into the shade. (I hate that show so much) It's nearly happened a couple of times Spinifex, here's one example

Thanks for resurrecting this Spinifex, here are a few more pics taken over the last year or so, there may be some duplication in other threads here as I can't remember what I've posted before Wallaby in the living room Building the pallet compound The drier tub fire Wallaby in the workshop Start of the forge extension to the workshop Forge extension Welding two steel lintels together to make a post for the forge extension corner Corner post in place Lifting the lintel beam for the workshop doorway Beam in place I go off into the bush and find a nice post for my leg vise. Backfilling started and post for leg vise in place. Cutting off the excess on the leg vise post Excess cut off (I decided to use a chainsaw as the crosscut was blunt) Forge extension backfilling complete, leg vise post trimmed to correct height, half wall complete, and various tools and stumps temporarily placed. New storage shelves for lathe stuff. Making a gun safe Part of the gun room Starting the roof over the forge extension Roof detail Roof finished Partition that divides the workshop from the pallet compound One of the dunnies and the HWS for the outside shower Strapping for the cracked incinerator pipes Unleashing my inner stone mason Currently the outside shower and clothes line area, will become a camp kitchen soon The forge extension is clad with old corro, two of the workshop shutters half open View from other end of the workshop We collect water in one tank and transfer to another, this spar filter helps to clean some crap in the process Some fun in the workshop 16 new batteries Some hand tools The garden in full bloom last year Some produce from the garden The pallet compound is now a propagating area, at least that's the plan but we've not propagated a single plant yet. Truth is the garden is pretty much on hold this year, too many other projects plus I now work full time. A retro look at the forge extension Playing around with a new idea for a tracking solar array 13 new (to me) panels, I will probably use 8 of them for the tracking array, meanwhile 10 of them are connected to the new solar setup

... Enough so that I've switched from the aggressive fund to the cash fund to insulate it from what may happen next week.
We are lucky to be able to do that as well, but we were too slow to do so in the GFC and lost heaps. Long since removed 99% of it anyway but will keep an eye on things better this time.

I'm going crazy I can't see any pictures, making knives was something I always wanted to do. I think that there used to be photos, but there are certainly none now.

I agree with all the above and can't really add anything, except to say that if you have to idolize one of these "celebrities" then you are seriously lacking something...probably self esteem.

Yeah I know, pity the 60% wasn't only on your $ in the bank I remember paying off a house at 18%, I hated it but my parents were well happy as they had a heap in the bank.

We don't have a single clock in our house, and I seldom carry a phone, BUT I do at times need to know the time, for example so I get up in time for work, and, more importantly, know when to knock off

Why do you want a wind-up so much? +1 I have a Seiko 5 automatic, about $150 a few years ago, works a treat but does gain time a bit.

Wow, what a setup, makes mine look pathetic Heh, Heh ... I feel the same about your excellent metal fabrication skills. A lesson in the importance of community skill sharing for long term survival. Very true, another person has medical training, another is a whiz at feeding 20 people with a handful of rice and a tomato, another is a security expert, another a good mechanic, another is great raising livestock etc etc. None of us are skilled in it all, or even if we were we won't have the time and we have to sleep as well. So a group is important, pity we here are spread out all over the country.

Moth mrs and I got a confirmation email within seconds that our opt out had been successfully processed. That was probably an auto response, I would still verify it by talking to a human. Even then you can't be 100% sure but that's about all you can do.

Doctor: So how are we today? Gun owner: Pretty good, been a bit down lately though. Record: Patient suffers from depression. Good luck getting your license renewed next time it's due. Also, it seems that you should explicitly tell the doctor that you don't want anything entered in this system as some clinic's computer systems will default to do so automatically unless they uncheck the option.
