Also worth mentioning if you own one make sure you know how to test that a mask fits perfectly if intending to use it in highly toxic environments. I once carted a work mate to the ER because he had a minor leak on the mask seal that he didn't pick up until he started feeling funny. We got him into clean air as soon as he noticed a problem but the symptoms continued to worsen despite the fact the amount of toxic gas he inhaled must have been minute. The subsequent poisoning symptoms, as they developed over the next 15 minutes, were traumatic and frightening to observe. All this from a product that can be legally purchased in our country if you have the right paperwork. He was in hospital for a week and took about 3 months to fully recover from his experience. Yeah the P100 masks are the one Im as far to go with. Will have to quickly cut of my beard though to make sure I get a good seal.

Have a look at the terrain/path you'll be taking and see where you can fill up with water along the way so you don't have to carry much or have a support vehicle. The key will be able to fill up at several dozen points along the way.

That weren't only armed with pistols. The footage I saw at least one of them was armed with a long gun. The picture in that article shows one of them with a long gun.
And yes hats off to rural police and all first responders that were there on that day.

I agree with everything you said Noreseman except that last line.
"He hasn't got time to ID or decipher the white text on the gat before he get a 5.56 round through the chest!"
This is a preparedness website, it's about being prepared. "Most" of us here try to be aware of our surroundings and try to see this coming before it happens or at least be prepared to act appropriately when it occurs.

"If they did participate, it was after the show was over."
That is what I heard, but yes just unconfirmed rumours..

From what I have heard the "Gentlemen" in the second photo are NZSAS that were called to respond to the shooting.
In the last photo you can see a clear difference between scumbag and Law Enforcement.
Again LE do not run around with long guns covered with white graffiti. Also most times in active shooter situations the shooter is not dressed anything remotely like LE.
Note: made a change with the wording on first post..

I disagree. Im sure the the gunman from Christchurch didn't have POLICE written in bold letters on his back and front nor tried looking like LE and local LE don't run around with long weapons covered with white graffiti.
If they wanna believe that that gunman looked like "police or security force" god be with them.
The actual police officers that chased, caught and arrested the Piece Of Shit (POS) while wearing vests and carrying long guns clearly looked like POLICE.

Shit to hear Spinifex. Was hoping the last couple of batches of rain was hit across that way.
Seasons have been running a bit longer the past year I think. Hope it turns around with the last of the wet season.
Hows things where you are Spinifex?
