(Yes, even that is part of being a female gray man lol) not too many girls keep electrical tape, a small folding knife, torch, spare money, or a mini fak in their handbag (honestly my handbag is like the tardis! I'm still working on it tbh, but much of it is in regards to needing to move with the kids, and as we are most usually with the bf (who I have labeled the prep police, lol) most tools etc are already in the car along with a fire extinguisher, water etc

Here's something, any ideas of a compact multi tool I could stash in my bag? Can't be too expensive or the prep police won't allow it, lol

In my opinion a ghb should be light enough for you to carry at least most of the day without fatigue. It should only contain the bare essentials to survive. Shelter: a tarp is a lightweight option, water, fire, food and a way to defend yourself against an armed attacker. Don't get weighed down by useless gear. Depending on the anticipated distance to get home you may be able to do away with the shelter and food.

Wolfie, if you have a independent tool store like trade tools close by, they have lots of "cheap" ($20-30) leatherman style multi tools, if the prep police can't allow you to induldge in your "hobby" then he needs a kick in the thing squirrels chase I can't help you with the prep police issue but if he is your other half, he really needs to understand its your hobby and a few $$ a month keeps you happy... Well happy wife Happy life

Lol Regarding your personal battle, i cant help you win this one, but try and sell it as your hobby (and can be a low cost one) as there is not alot of very expensive items and those expensive ones you can lay by

Kingcrome is now a bunnings brand so likely not so independent Really? I find that a little hard to believe considering a few stores here stock that almost exclusively! I know of two stores in 30 mins drive of me who stock it to the eyeballs! Honestly, it's like an adult store for people who love good tools!

I have a teeny tiny Gerber in my hand bag, it's only about 6cm long and really light.
