Excellent, how have you found the timber cladding for insulation value? Last container I set up in the SW of WA I used vinyl insulated cladding and an insulated tropical roof. Sealed up it wouldnt go above 22 celcius when ambient was above 40 www.mittenvinyl.com.au/products/cambridge

That paneling looks like it would do a good job.
We're happy with the timber, it also seems to do a good job. Gets a bit hot down the kitchen end, mostly because that has a translucent roof I think, so no tropical roof on that part.

I'd totally forgotten about this thread, better post a few update photos eh? Second tank arrives but can't be dropped in the right spot. So I snig it into place with the Tirfor winch. 4th container arrives, it too cannot be dropped in place. So I have to snig that as well. It took from 8AM to 5PM to move it an inch or two at a time. A lot of extra roofing done, this area will be a workshop. Starting on the workshop walls Access from the bathroom container out into the workshop Backfilling the forge area of the workshop Trimming the two tree stumps dead level for mounting vices. I think I need another bench and this is a good spot for one A little patio area, the living room is through that large barn door. 8mm steel plate for a layout table Fabricating the layout table All done, works a treat. Note vices have been mounted. The forge area starts to take shape, no actual forge yet though Fabricating the shutters, on is in place. Rainy day, I'll just sit in the living room and watch the wildlife Kitchen finished Another part of the workshop half wall is done NBN satellite installed 12 more solar panels installed, we no longer need a generator (except for welding) Up early to melt some lead Got some helpers today, they aren't much help though Tinkering with the lathe Another helper cleaning up the grain mill Outdoor shower installed, a Godsend after clearing brush in the hot weather Slowly getting my tools and stuff organised Window into the eco-loo area, lets a good breeze through One of the locals Lounge room finished This is how it looks these days

Excellent update. I've been criticised before for running threads on my retreat, accused of lacking judgement on persec and/or boasting about my progress, but I firmly believe threads like this inspire others, so well done Grey. Yeah it's a toss up between OP/PERSEC and sharing what can be done. Are there people out there taking notes so they know who to raid? Maybe, but I really doubt it and they would have to live pretty close by post-SHTF to have a chance of getting here. AFAIK only a couple of people know where I am, yes I could be found but who is going to go to that much trouble?

Hopefully we will catch up again Wow, that's a blast from the past. And another member has just PMd me, we met while I was building the truck all those years ago in Queanbeyan. You can run but you can't hide. Are you in Tassie now?
