We think it is a sambar deer. All deer species here are introduced. In my home town deer are in plague proportions.

Testing out son’s new rifle and scope. Holdover marks on scope allow for very quick target acquisition at various distances. .223 calibre with a fast twist rate, reaching out to about 600m accurately. No animals were hurt in the making of this photo.  |

That’s the plan Spatial, resort in good times, comfortable refuge in bad times.
I’m considering living there full time in 2025 as I build my actual resort on my other property. That will be the real deal, 40m long house with pool, spa, gym, bunker, library, even a wood fire in the ensuite. And seperate accomodation for the on-site nurse.

It can get windy, the valley seems to funnel wind. The cabin is double framed, meaning each portal has double c purlin bolted back to back. This makes it very strong to handle snow load but also higher winds.

Forget snow, too cold !
Wind generators are a viable option still, and popular with boaties, but they do get noisy, especially in strong, gusty winds when the blades are spilling the air.
And they work at night and in rain as well !
Ive seen the evidence for, I want to see other evidence.

Oat milk, vanilla latte with a shot of chai for good luck if I'm feeling spicy, thank you very much 🤣. Or black Moccono, free-poured from the jar into the largest bucket I can find. I'm partial to both, but mostly the black instant is for when I'm feeling salty. Which is most of the time if I'm honest.

12yo single malt whisky, with ice if I’m feeling soft. At the edge of that mown area is the river. I like to sit in that chair with a whisky and a cigar after the clearing has been freshly mown and watch the ducks wander almost right up to us. A little family of 4 waddlers looking for bugs last weekend.
