I walked into a tool store once and asked for a drill that wasn't made in the third world. Salesman said cya. I ended up buying one from Mexico. These days I only buy Milwaukee, quality third world crap. Some good stuff made in Taiwan and India Bunnings: 41 piece socket set. Taiwan.
Supacheap: spanner sets from India.
Bunnings: bricklayer's twine can be chinese in the ropes section, or Taiwanese in the tool section. Just have to look for the 'good guy' stuff.

Probably because all the tooling was established here in AU under Sidchrome. Too bad they sold out to taiwan for cheap labour. My old man had a set of sockets and wrenches made here in australia in the late 60's.

Snap-on are much better. Blundstone boots went the same way. The few people I know that bought a pair after the factory move regretted it afterwards.

Yep Blundstone went to total shite after they moved offshore! My last pair were absolute crap in both fit and durability.

I had a pair lasted me 13 years - the elastic was so loose I could slip my foot straight into the boot - thanks to my kelpie pups enthusiasm for chewing my boots. Next pair lasted 12 months. Went to Mongrel Boots (Aussie made) and top quality.

My first pair of blundstones lasted 10 years of almost daily use. When I heard about the factory move I didn't buy a second pair. Haven't heard of anyone buying them since. Mongrel and Redback have filled in where blundstone walked away.

I'm confused.
Isn't Taiwan already independent?
I get that they are diplomatically isolated ... but the UN could fix that tomorrow with a few taps of the keyboard ... if it grew some actual balls.

Used to be more countries than that, but China gave a lot of small countries low interest or interest free loans, on the condition that they stop recognising Taiwan.

Scumbags. The whole thing infuriates me. Literally an entire country rejects you, your leadership and your way of life to the degree that they're willing to risk war, and you have the cojones to say "you don't know what you're talking about"?
Maaaaaate... China sucks.

The CCP is sounding a lot more like North Korea these days.

Nice. They are a good Aussie business and stock a range of products to suit just about all your homestead or hobby farm requirements. This makes me like them even more. They must have had a name change as they were Oz farmer.
