I've been warning of this for a while. China does not recognise Australian Antarctic Territory and has abused the terms of the Antarctic treaty to build bases on it. These bases never get inspected. When the treaty expires, China will make a territorial claim/start mining etc and they will already have a military presence there which we will not. This will put Australia directly into a territorial dispute with China and our government will back down to them immediately. |

In the good ole days we had SLR's and Browning High Powers locked up in our stations down there (just in case) but the politifuggs got rid of them just like they did the dog teams!

Lead is an issue too. There are hardly any lead smelters left in the US and those are car battery recyclers.

This sounds a lot like a big guy acting the bully, using his size to intimidate a smaller opponent. Which only works until the smaller opponent punches him in the face. Much like how Ukraine removed the illusion of Russia’s strength.
