Things are not what they seem over there, rip offs are rife.
Do you put your faith in, or have faith in science ?

The painted rocks on rebar to 'fool' ccp officials that the land hasn't been turned into unfertile dust, was and will possibly forever my favourite chinese fakery.

It's one of the main reasons (there are many more) that anyone with money leaves china as soon as they can. If you've got money, why would you stay in a country where the air is poisoned, you don't know what is in your food and you could be killed by a collapsing bridge/building at any time? If you have money, you want to live in a country where you can enjoy it. For this reason the ccp has repeatedly tried to stop people taking money out of the country. The problem for the ccp is that corruption is built into the system so strongly that nobody can stop that money leaking out.

Hence the Chinese mentality of if you can cheat now, cheat, never mind the future and it will be their downfall.
Forgive your enemies, but remember their names.

Egypt can now be added to ever growing list of countries in hunger and on edge of economic collapse. Hunger a small price to pay for progress, except there is no progress Egypt Teeters On Brink Of Economic Ruin As Public Debt Mounts, Poverty Rate Soarswww.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/egypt-teeters-brink-economic-ruin-public-debt-mounts-poverty-rate-soarsLast autumn, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi gave a speech in the New Administrative Capital in Cairo, the $300bn project that will ultimately define his presidency. He said hunger was a small price to pay for progress: "If progress, prosperity and development come at the price of hunger and deprivation, Egyptians, do not shy away from progress! Don’t dare say: ‘It is better to eat.'" This horrifying vision of hunger and deprivation is what awaits millions of Egyptians in the coming years.

Egypt has had a surging population, so extreme that even the nile delta cannot sustain them any more.

China doing their typical "We're not doing anything, honestly!" Belarus and China join forces in a military drill near the Polish border"TALLINN, Estonia (AP) — Belarus is hosting Chinese troops for a joint military drill near its border with NATO member Poland, officials said Tuesday, the first such exercise reflecting growing defense ties between the two countries. The 11-day drill named Eagle Assault 2024 started on Monday at a shooting range in the Brest region close to Poland. It comes ahead of NATO’s summit in Washington that opens on Tuesday and after Belarus last week joined a regional security organization led by China and Russia."

The three gorges dam is under immense strain with record flooding and simultaneous releases from over 700 upstream reservoirs. The dam has opened 11 floodgates to release as much water as possible to save the dams structural integrity. This release has come at a high cost to many down stream cities that are now flooding. The next few days will be interesting as more water reaches the dam. Dykes and levis are failing all over the place and the damage is already of epic proportions. There is a chance the 3 gorges dam could fail too. If it did, 10’s of millions will be affected.
Apparently authorities make mega $$ off electricity from the dam and were reluctant to lower the dam storage to lessen the flood impact. The electric corp like high water levels to provide power for longer into any dry spells making more profit from the hydro set up there.

There are SO many communities that would be impacted by a sudden release of the Mekong's full flow, back to historical norms. They just can't leave things alone, can they.

Whoops! You're absolutely right! I was talking the other day with a mate about the Mekong (he's going to Vietnam for a holiday... It was a weird convo lol) and how China's interference has caused parts of the Mekong to dry up and then brain farted when I responded.
I should probably have more coffee. Or less. I'm not sure which one is better at this stage 🤣. But yes, Yangtze is a whole other river lmao. Although with very similar dam reliability problems.

Black Spiced Rum would be way better in coffee, and it also improves an expresso martini.

Thailand has been complaining repeatedly about China's dambuilding. Imagine losing your reliable water source, then having the tofu dreg fail in the end.

Yep. China has taken advantage of the US not having a leader for several years now, to send tonnes of fent over there. Of course those crimes often result in the death penalty inside china, but when the victims are overseas, the CCP doesn't care/actively facilitates it.
