At some point there will be an accident during this gamesmanship ... and then half the planet (in population terms) will find itself killing each other.
All thanks to one or more Authoritarians wanting to demonstrate they have the larger penis..

All thanks to one or more Authoritarians wanting to demonstrate they have the larger penis.. I've said this for ages. A war won't be started intentionally. I mean, the build up is and the inevitable stoush will have been planned by those with an interest. But the actual physical hostilities will probably be started by someone sneezing, or mistaking a smoke plume from a camp fire for something more. That's what happens when people are on edge for months at a time.

So are we prepared for a time when most imports are stopped because the ocean and sky off our east and north coast become a war zone?

Australia is screwed lol For food we would be alright, but most other things that require manufacturing we are done for. Just look at the empty shelves of Kmart during the height of covid because they couldn't get their stock delivered or unloaded due to wharfie union slowdowns.

Good. I think it's the right stance to take. If you want to conduct fair diplomacy you don't make demands to even SPEAK to the other party. That's not diplomacy, that'd dictatorship. Naw buddy. Not today.

Wasnt that shocking, urbanites couldnt buy cheap shitty exercise equipment. The more we rely on china the more in debt to them we become, they know this, they are playing the long game and capitilizing on greed.

How much of what we import from China is really necessary? If necessary, is it impossible to be gotten elsewhere? I'm sure there are examples, but I can't think of anything in that category. Examples of what we don't need from them are far easier to come by. Most of what we import is garbage. New mobile phone/tv/whatever, whilst the old one is still working. New furniture whilst the perfectly good old stuff is dumped on the street. Generic plastic crap toys to distract our kids indoors rather than playing with them ourselves. The full list of this crap would be mammoth.

I walked into a tool store once and asked for a drill that wasn't made in the third world. Salesman said cya.
I ended up buying one from Mexico.
These days I only buy Milwaukee, quality third world crap.

Mate take a look at South Africa and Rhodesia back in the 60's, 70's and 80's when they were getting smashed with international sanctions! Their homeland industries boomed and quite simply they became more self-sufficient, smarter, less vulnerable and economically more resilient! There is so much fat built into this country we won't be going broke anytime soon except maybe for all the faarktard multinationals that chew us up and spit us out when it suits them! The only thing we really need to worry about are our bottom feeder politicians trying to sell us out via the backdoor! Despite Gubberment fifth columnist intervention we will do pretty well after the painful transitionary period. Garage sales, barter groups, local markets will boom and shit if not it will all be tax free money the Politifilth never see! The downsizing of the Public Service will be massive and only "real" jobs with real purpose and real value as in like the real ones that real people work in will remain................AWESOME!

You only have to walk into Kmart and watch the swathes of bored zombies buying up cheap trash because they're bored and not because they actually need it to answer that question. And they'll be back in six months to replace that cheap trash because it's cheap to get rid of when it starts looking shabby or falls apart.
