The video was posted by someone with significant exposure to the level of racism in the PRC. It should be viewed in that context. But your questions about the shortness of it are fair.

Solomons have fallen to the chinese ownership of the prime minister and senior members.

The CIA are probably planning the Solomon Island's PM overthrow already.

It’s crazy. we spent nearly 20 years there and the moment we move out the chinese creep in. If these little islands sell their sovereignty so easily then we don’t have a hope, it will be a massive blockade.

Its not only these 'little islands", our Governments and especially Polyfilths, are doing it too, and not only selling out to the Chinese, but Russian and USA interests.

Which might explain the ADF's desire to buy a fleet of nuclear subs, using an existing model and not some French pipedream that keeps getting delayed and more expensive.

Not many realize, but a diesel electric sub wins on almost all fronts over nukes. Size, quietness, a nuke sub always must have a coolant pump or pumps running, stealth, and the only thing a diesel electric loses on is underwater endurance.
Truly sane people belong in the asylum, I'm nuts !

Truly sane people belong in the asylum, I'm nuts ! That depends on the mission. A diesel sub has to stay relatively close to home, a nuclear sub can pop up off the coast of China and launch anytime. This is why the Chinese don't want us buying them.

The Oberons were notorious for being able to sneak up on other subs.

The CIA are probably planning the Solomon Island's PM overthrow already. I would say there are plans in motion, but unfortunately it seems like you would have to "heart attack" a good number of the MPs that are in chinas pocket. Corruption is the biggest problem with small poorer nations like this, so you've always got to be there offering more than the commies to keep them on side and if they know the game, they will get greedy and shop around for the best deals to fill their coffers with hard cash.

Or foster an overthrow of the government by the people (funded and trained by the CIA) then install a friendly PM. This needs to be done before the CCP have a strong enough armed presence there to repel a coup. Malaita Eagle Force version 2?

I reckon the people are onside. They were burning chinese buildings at the beginning of the year so can’t see how sentiment would have changed with every day joe or the solomons equivalent.
We need to stop the shopping around to the highest bidder. not sure how but all the loves we lost for that country and millions spent just can’t be ignored.

Yeah i think that is a definite reason for the off the shelf subs. I heard that building capacity for the virginia class is not enough and we might get astute class from UK as they are nearing the end of their build and will have spare space in the shipyard for Aussie builds.

Problem with that is china has already signed a security pact with the solomons, so next time the people rise up against the government or chinese interests, they will just fly through and wipe them out, and with them banning foreign media as well it won't get televised until after the fact

The PRC is not going to collapse. It is not going to "implode". It gets away with rampant IP theft to base its industry on. It uses aggressive territorial expansion to get the resources it wants. It is carrying out the 21st century's first holocaust. They control the media narrative to the point that nobody realises they are an empire, with around half the landmass consisting of people who were violently subjugated in recent times. Nobody really stands up to them in any meaningful way, let alone punitive action/regime change. When the housing bubble bursts, it will create a new generation of 'low cost' workers that the CCP wants. The autocrats who run the place will continue to do what they have always done.
Those with long enough memories will remember when North Korea was a standout state with high living standards. The economy collapsed, the ruling clique didn't. Like the PRC, they have not allowed any of the reforms that ultimately led to the downfall of other communist regimes. The country may be hell on earth, but the ruling class continue to do just fine.

The more concerning one is the CCP setting up bases across Antarctica. Australia (foolishly) signed the Antarctic Treaty back in the day, which means we can't stop them. When it expires, good luck evicting the CCP... They will inevitably start fishing and mining. Like most other countries, they do not recognise our Antarctic Territory.
