I don't see masses of people being anti science at all, I just see bad actors attempting to bundle their own ideology and politics with science and then feigning outrage when others push back against the "science".
It is like serving up cheesecake in a bucket of shit and then claiming everyone hates cheesecake.

‘There is no place for anti-vaccination messages in professional health practice, and any promotion of anti-vaccination claims including on social media, and advertising may be subject to regulatory action.’
That’s because vaccination and the control of infectious disease is considered to be one of the top 2 or 3 most significant advances in medicine in the several hundred years. That is not up for debate. It is a fact. It is unprofessional to essentially misrepresent this - as a health professional your opinion carries undue weight to people, you have to be careful what you say. Reminding the profession of that is not wrong. “The what are they trying to hide” statement is straight out of the Tucker Carlson play book! No one is trying to hide anything - literally everything is published and available to be reviewed if you care to look - but the problem is that many people reply on the alt media who are selectively quoting sources every bit as much as the MSM
Within health care like the population as a whole there are health professionals who hold fringe views. They are absolutely allowed to hold those and they attract a certain population to their practices. What APHRA and the MCNZ have said is that to promote an anti vaccination message is unprofessional. There are plenty of criticisms that can be made of individual vaccines, the vaccine strategy and the health approach to this pandemic. And this isn’t about criticism- there are plenty of doctors who have raised concerns based on research and there has been a huge amount of debate. But these should be made on the basis of evidence and not a naturalnews article

"It's not through any fault of their own they haven't had the opportunity to get vaccinated. In the workplace they were doing the right thing, they were masked up so they've found themselves in a really difficult situation."
The above is a quote from SDA union spokesman Bernie Smith, in relation to the 12 workers at Punchbowl KFC who all caught covid despite wearing masks. More evidence that masks will not stop you catching or spreading covid, more evidence that these mask mandates are useless. At my workplace a high percentage of workers only cover their mouth with the mask, not their nose. I suspect any attempt by management to force compliance would see a walkout.

They aren’t useless……
Again….. masks protect people around the wearer, not the wearer from those people around them. You need an N95 mask and eye protection to protect yourselves from others.
Flimsy paper mask are not overly effective, but what they do do well is reduce your spread if you cough or sneeze or you spit when you talk. Masks reduce your range by 1/2.
It isn’t great, but it is not useless and is essentially risk free - so no risk and small benefit so why not? No Covid then waste of time wearing them, but if you happen to have it, it will reduce the number you infect. I don’t understand the opposition beyond not wanting to be told what to do.
I laugh at mask exemptions….. no one gets a mask exemption in ED - you wear one or you don’t come in. Surprisingly people are not dropping dead of claustrophobic or having asthma attacks….. this “I have an exemption” is bullshit 99% of the time - I accept there is maybe 1% genuine. It is funny to watch but quite pathetic.

I'm half don't tell me what to do and half I really don't like my face covered. I can't use a snorkel either. Just really dislike anything over my mouth. Masks didn't protect those KFC workers.
But I suppose they aren't as useless as a covid passport. If the vaccine doesn't stop you catching covid or spreading covid, what use is a Vax passport apart from an attack on freedom and an attempt to coerce people into getting the jab?

If the vaccine doesn't stop you catching covid or spreading covid, what use is a Vax passport apart from an attack on freedom and an attempt to coerce people into getting the jab? It is an attempt to coerce people. But a few things I think are really important; 1. The vaccine reduces the severity of the disease. It does, that is not in question. The UK data demonstrates that categorically. Less likely to get sick or go to hospital or to ICU. 2. There is good evidence that if you are vaccinated you are infectious for a shorter period than if you are not. Modelling suggests a vaccinated person will infect 1/2 the number of people an unvaccinated person will - the R0 appears to be under 1/2. 2. If you are unvaccinated you are at risk of being a substantially greater burden on the health service than if you are, hence the coercion. 3. For the other strains of COVID currently in circulation it does reduce both infection and severity - from memory delta is about 75% of infection. there is still real value to vaccination.

But what about the mask manufacturers saying on there product that they dont eliminate the risk of contracting disease or reduce the risk of illness or death? Like who do we believe, the CHO's or the people who make the masks? Like i wouldnt trust those cheap chinese masks, like they give us the disease and sell us shitty masks to combat it, yeah right lol!!

And I wonder why people are pushing back against masks and saying they don't work..... Watching QLD premier at a press conference from either today or yesterday...... paraphrased quote " wear a mask they protect you from catching COVID - they work" - the "its protects you" was said 2-3 times. As you probably know I am pro-mask - but having a politician lie about why you should wear them erodes trust even more......

I agree entirely bce1. Pro-mask... But bloody hell their messaging has issues! Part of the problem is politicians not really understanding basic medicine concepts and still being expected to brief on them. Keep the sciences to the scientists and the politicians to the politics. We don't ask football players to provide commentary on equestrian events, why do we accept the same shenanigans in our specialist messaging?
Boggles the mind.

“In fact … the recommendation around the 5km radius … and the mask wearing outside, yes it does have health benefits, but in the main it was for compliance reasons. “Dr Chant and I accepted those on that basis that that’s what the police needed.”................................Gladys Tip Turkey on 2GB Radio.

Well, since I've been wearing a mask, and using this as my Tinder photo, I'm finally getting a few hits. So, I'm all for mask wearing.

Masks prevent facial recognition from working properly, so I'm all for them.

I don't like them... I have not found one yet that fit well.. They fog my glasses.. Sometimes when you need to look down they obscure sight.. They are just a pain in the a$$...
However.. I do use one like I should.. Just to keep the mask nazi where ever you go from raising a fuss.. No use drawing unwanted, unneeded attention one way or another..

I don't like them either, they fog my glasses, and my face is breaking out. But try a face shield that has been wiped down and reused for months - talk about obscuring view. I've been in COVID rooms, where the lighting isn't working properly, and trying to rescue a patient - putting in central/arterial lines - I have to pull the darn face shield off as I can't see.
