Some of those Kiwis are pretty brutal though. One even threatened to remove my testicles with a rusty scalpel.

Mrs Norseman wouldn't be outsourcing the surgical procedure, or using any pain relief, if she caught you in a compromising situation with a nubile young Ukrainian beauty. I saw the look in her eyes when I tried to steal the lollies she was guarding at the last meet. Very scary.

It's very similar to Australia invading NZ because Morrison thinks they are getting too close to China. Can't imagine there being much willingness from Australian soldiers to shoot their NZ counterparts. If Morrison was an ex-leader of a notorious, murderous institution and held a gun to our head and told us that you and your families future opportunities and well being was dependent on your performance of killing these Kiwis then maybe our willingness would be different.
Bit hard to make a comparison...
Not really. Large armies of conscripts get beaten regularly or at least suffer a disproportionate number of casualties. The average soldier of a professional volunteer army is very motivated to achieve whatever their task is. Conscripts on the other hand are far more likely to surrender or do whatever it takes to keep themselves alive. As soon as there's a 'gun to your head', it isn't a volunteer force anymore and you aren't going to take any avoidable risks to fight for someone who clearly does not care about you.

The Australian conscripts who fought in Vietnam were world class.
The Israeli conscripts who fought in the Yom Kippur war were also world class.

I was also going to add that the Red Army was utterly crap in the WW2 until Stalin turned up the heat and threatened to not only shoot them onsite for retreating but also sending their families to the gulags.
I couldn't be bothered tho...
That would be a motivator for me...just sayin'

There has never been a better time for China to have a crack at world dominance. US is imploding and is led by a bumbling old fossil, EU fracturing led by brexit, huge global debt a d declining living standards in the west. However if they leave it too long i can see old alliances reviving their commitments to each other and pushing out countries that don’t share our values.

This is a good one:- Putin 'drinking his own bathwater': expert"Russian President Vladimir Putin's ability to weather economic sanctions will outstrip Western politicians facing voters angry at increased prices, a leading security expert says.""There's no way of appeasing this man except for utter abject surrender. It's going to be hard for him to climb down off this battle, which is not looking so good," he said." www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/putin-drinking-his-own-bathwater-expert/ar-AAV6OaV?ocid=msedgntpJournalists sitting side by side with politicians and other vermin at the National Press Club in Canberra and then broadcast on the ABC is about as low in the toilet you can go, but watching this on iview.abc.net.au/video/NC2211C007S00 is possibly worthwhile.

The Danish bloke who runs the Survival Russia YouTube channel has been showing how sanctions are affecting Russia. Admittedly his view is from a small regional town far from Moscow which may be completely different from the populated city centres but it certainly suggests that there is little or no impact yet.

Not surprising. Russian towns have been third world for a long time. Not sure what will change there. The sanctions are targetted at Putin's wealthy supporter base.

I've been watching him for years! He supplements his living by earning YT / Patreon cash and getting "free stuff" from the internet. He has some good content but I reckon it's only going to get better as life gets more desperate in Siberia. He can hear the rail traffic on the Trans Siberian Railway it's just down the road from where he lives!
