Today a Russian stating at 6.40 minutes in that Putin needs to claim victory or he is a dead person literally! "He just needs to win the war or die!"

I believe Israel and other countries has had some level of compulsory registration to compulsory service time for women for quite some time now.. This is not a new concept and a smart move for any country to have a handle on the numbers of woman available to provide manpower for there country.. Also many places women have a mandatory level of basic training to include qualifying with small arms, even if they only serve at a reserve type level..
My aunt Darlene, the WW2 Marine Corps nurse, had to qualify with small arms for personal and patient protection.. She and my mom were both crack shots..
Anyway.. Go where ever you want in history and there will be examples of women serving to great distinction..
Smart move on the part of the Swiss in my opinion..

Switzerland has one of the highest gun ownership in the world. Since all males do military service and every house is supposed to have a bunker. When war breaks out it is woman and children that suffer the most. I think the proposed changes in Switzerland is due to nerves about Russia. Russian invasion of Ukraine is causing a major arms race and military spending.

I'm going to add more cabins to my retreat and turn it into a safe haven for hot female Vietnamese backpackers wanting to avoid compulsory military setvice.
It makes sense militarily to include females in your recruitment, even for the combat arms. They can be just as effective as male soldiers.

Conscription must be gender neutral. No country can claim to have true equality and still discriminate in this way.

Poland offers its citizens free military training as it seeks to increase the size of its armyPoland's Ministry of Defense is offering basic military training free of charge to its citizens starting Monday, as the government has seized on the Ukrainian war as part of its aspirations to expand and empower military institutions.
Under the slogan 'Train with the Army', Poles between the ages of 18 and 65 will be able to be instructed in 17 different units of the Armed Forces in the handling of weapons, including firearms, hand-to-hand combat, map reading, or how to survive in the field and provide first aid.
"Would you like to learn how to use a real weapon? Are you curious about what it feels like to throw a grenade and put on a gas mask? Have you always wanted to learn how to defend yourself in close combat?" are some of the questions launched by this Polish government campaign to recruit volunteers.www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/poland-offers-its-citizens-free-military-training-as-it-seeks-to-increase-the-size-of-its-army/ar-AA12fYkj?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=de0be649da5d4b8e827efbc4ce0544f1Poland's Government taking preparatory steps to invigorate a militaristic mindset in it's people, while Australian Political farkwits and their goons are doing their best to beat it out of Oz citizens! How is that working for us right now, pretty damn well, like State Police across the nation are fully struggling to get new recruits as is the ADF etc. etc. Young people don't want a friggen bar of any of it and who can really blame them! Imagine when China comes fully knocking? We are stuffed!

Yup, screwed royally. And with most youngsters now being afraid of guns as they are "bad", we are ripe for over taking.
Not us, going to town today and buying a few red dot sights for a couple of weapons, plus some more ammo, if there is stock. Anyone notice that the gun shop only has a 1,000 rounds of 22 cal in stock ? More can be ordered.
Anyway, Refreshed the targets on my range with a splash of paint yesterday afternoon. Will be having a few mates over Sunday and having a shoot. Their eyes lit up when I said I will be supplying the ammo, just bring yourself and yr weapon.

Poland has learned from history well it seems. By doing this, you'll end up with a ready to go 'resistance' force. Poland is really a shining light in Europe for many reasons now.

Only 1000 rounds of .22 at a time? My 7 trainees combined would go through that in one training session. Each match we shoot is 65 to 70 shots each, and they often shoot 2 matches per session. I buy .22 at 5000 rounds a time.

3 of us wont be able to blow through 1,000 rounds before dark anyway !
Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

Not many exhibitors, lots of second hand guns. One exhibitor had closing down sales. Alost no ammo, exhibitors only had rare caliber ammo on display. First time ever never purchased any ammo at an arms fair. The one exhibitor said 308 is getting scares in Australia, the last shipment of 308 rifles was redirected to the US...!! I still have some large caliber reloading capacity, will be 'hunting 308 ammo this weekend. Up till now have not noticed ammo shortage, only price going up and packaging getting smaller shrinkflation.....

Gotta doubt Vlad will resort to trying Nukes.
Soon as he does that ... he's over as a world leader. He'd be signing a global death warrant for himself. No-one would take him in to shield him from a war crimes trial with a rope for him to dangle on at the end of proceedings.
Be interesting to see if he can achieve a full Russian mobilization to bring full conventional might to his ill-conceived military adventure.
Putin is running out of military hardware, they have had substantial losses. Russians purchasing ammunition's from N.Korea. US, UK, Germany have low munitions stocks as well especially anti tank and aircraft launches. Poland and surrounding counties donated all out of date ex soviet weapons, British sent out of date tanks, even the Australian Bushmaster vehicles are now busy been replaced so sent 40 of the older version to Ukraine. Putting more men when the war is an artillery and drone punch up, will not achieve much. Western artillery is more accurate and has a longer range. There is a big restriction on sale of computer chips to Russia so rebuilding modern weapon systems is problematic for them. What has me amazed is the ineffectiveness of Russian air force and navy. Other than use of Drones it is WW1 type fighting with cannons and trenches. WW2 with aerial bombardment rapid tank and troop movement was key. When global economy fails and no one is in a position to help Ukraine it will get very messy, then China will invade Taiwan. I totally agree with that last point. It is coming. Your second last point may be a strategy to keep their tech capability under wraps to some degree and a cost saving measure to a much larger degree.
Full mobilisation isn't just about manpower. Its about directing their economy entirely to weapons and munitions production. Given sanctions and political attitude of the west towards Russia over previous decade or more ... I'd be surprised if they don't have fully indigenous weapons manufacture capability. Including chips.
They might try a very sly biological campaign too. They have a long history of researching and developing weaponry in this field. They must have ability to field contagious incapacitants.
I actually wonder sometimes if Covid is a sly Chinese biological campaign. One designed to either cripple or make the excuse to cripple (by simple export restrictions coming out of the worlds manufacturing hub) the western economic system.

I also sometimes wonder whether the CH IN A virus was man made.

"I also sometimes wonder whether the CHINA virus was man made."
You've woken up, yes it was. Biden's "build back better", you cant "build back better" until you've destroyed what was there.
"At a NSW rifle range you will be lucky to get 20 round every half hour session. No mag allowed, and only permission shooting. "
Not at my range, mags are allowed, as are semi autos, pump actions and large calibers. There are various targets to cater for anyone from the humble 177 air rifles (kids), to 50 cal deer slugs and 3 inch steel boiler plate targets. Two main distances, 30 meters and 100 meters, but I cant see out to 100 meters, so that's for visitors to use !
"When global economy fails and no one is in a position to help Ukraine it will get very messy, then China will invade Taiwan. "
That will be probably what initiates WW3 and nukes falling in the Northern Hemisphere.
Success is the sum of small efforts - repeated day in and day out.

Ukraine blows the bridge that gives the Russians access to the Crimea. Putin will be losing his mind! I'm starting to get a bad feeling about all this...

Crimea is a long way from eastern Australia. No reason to bug out if those northern hemisphere idiots want to destroy themselves. Besides, watching Europe burn would make better tv than the latte sipper wars on The Block.
Btw, Crimea is no more Russian than it is Ukrainian. Crimeans were more aligned with Turkey until they got ethnic cleansed by Russia.

When shit goes Nuclear in the Northern Hemisphere and the chain of events that follow including the trickle down effect for Oz should give ample time for last minute preps! Luckily most individuals here are geared up if not materially then at least in their heads anyway. It'll be your head start on the sheeple and their mother of all tp shopping sprees! I'll be doing fuel first spread over a couple of days to a week regardless of the per litre cost and then miscellaneous food items after that. I'll also max out all scripts for meds that I have at the same time.
