There is a lesson shaping up in this Palestine mess.
Israel is telling those in Gaza to get out. Unfortunately, borders are closed and there really isn't anywhere to go.
Those who think they will have time to go out to their BOL may like to rethink. What happens if the country is shut down, and you have a 8 hour trip to your BOL ? You are stuffed.
The world is only getting worse and perhaps you should be at your BOL now ?

It’s a whole lot easier to lockdown a tiny strip of land like Gaza than any Aus city, and the Israelis even stuffed that up. Part time roadblocks manned by part time soldiers who abandon their post when it gets dark is the best Aus can do. So easy to breach even that Train nutter breezed right through. |

I only saw cops twice, once they were raiding the donut van at Robertson and the other time on the freeway near Marulan they assumed I was a plumber and waved me through. The main border crossings might have been better manned, but they are very easy to box around, especially if you know someone on the other side of the blockade who can pick you up. |

The powers that be have had numerous meetings to discuss exactly that, people thwarting the travel restrictions, and how to go about locking up society.
They have learnt, so when round two comes along, and it is coming, they will be better prepared to stop travel and cross examine all drivers as to where they are coming from and going to. Live in the city and just visiting your country retreat ? Sorry, not allowed on my rule sheet, not a valid reason for travel, go home. Can you walk to your BOL, cross country ? Are you prepped enough out there to survive without your 'normal' gear that you carry in the car ?
Their ultimate one world government plan will fail, but in the mean time, its gonna get hard, and not being at your BOL will make it almost impossible to carry on in a large town or the city.
I visited our old property a few months ago, when I was in Wollongong, and was astounded at the amount of escarpment development that has taken place. Most blocks have at least 2 or 3 houses on them, and the roads are tarred ! Not slippery dirt/mud.
Over 40 years ago when I bought up there, it was a undertaking just to get home from work, especially after rain. The old Honda XL-500 had to work really hard at times to get up the hill.
Looking back, just what was I thinking that the area would be a 'safe' haven in the falling away ? I suppose back then it was 'remote' and hard to get to. Albion Park is almost unrecognizable now, landmark shops have been demolished, the little hamburger shop owned by Colin and Tiana at the corner of the Illawarra Hwy and Tongarra Road is gone, as is several others, replaced by gaudy looking brick monstrosities.
I'm glad we got out over 20 + years ago, before all this development and I can remember it as a sleepy town on the way to the highlands.
When I was down there, I had several plan B's in my mind, one of which was to follow the rail line north and 'jump the rattler'. Walking the 1,000 Km + home was an option, but almost on the end of the list ! Finding a pushbike at the tip was on there as well.

Lost a friend yesterday from the Fire Brigade from a heart attack on the fire front. Life is fragile, enjoy it and live every minute as if its your last.......RIP John.

Govt jerks....just saw on the ABC news that the PM has to work out where to go to from here. Why didn't he have a plan B ? or C etc ? We pay these dicks to be ahead of the curve, and expect them to have things under control, and this shows just how out of touch they all are, Labor, Libs, Green stripes, etc, I'm not discriminating.

His Plan B should be to grow a brain and lose some of his arrogance. Albanese was told on numerous occasions that people won’t vote for something the government is refusing to provide detail on.

There needs to be some sort of reckoning for the boards of private companies who spent company money on the 'yes' campaign. Shareholders have every right to be very, very angry with company boards that did this.

It will fade from memory and the 'money for influence' old boys club will continue. Remember all those politicians and business leaders that went to jail when their Cayman Islands dealings were exposed not so long ago? Neither do I. |
