I heard that the NSW Govt was allowing this, but just read last night in the Bush Fire Bulletin that if you have on farm dedicated firefighting appliances, like a trailer or truck, you can now legally drive it unregistered up to 100 km on the public roads.

Finally they have done something that does make sense.

Not that that would have stopped me from driving the gear on highway during an emergency.

I think you'd better get your heads around the technology mentioned in this document. This was the basis of the first gasifier I ever built and it worked. Now with Biden selling off 1 million barrels of strategic oil, I can foresee a oil shortage, and being prepared for that should be no different to being prepared for a food/water/electric etc shortage.

The original was destroyed in the tractor fire years ago, but I am collecting the bits to build another one. My main purpose is to set up a 3.5 kva Honda generator set on a pallet as a backup, backup power source. I don't think that travel is going to be an issue WTSHTF so am not making it transportable on the ute like version one was.

Add in a bank collapse, lockdown due to bird flu or something similar, economic collapse, collapse of the justice system and we are heading for some interesting times.

And if a nuke war breaks out in the northern hemisphere, the bible prediction of the sun being 'darkened' and the moon turning to 'blood', (due to the amount of dust ejected into the atmosphere ?), could be realistic.

Is Australia a nuke target ? I wouldn't like to be anywhere near a major capital city at this time.

Frost, we have 5 Skymesh satellite services here, one on each families house, and we regularly get 500 + megs, and especially after about 9 pm, it sometimes tops 1 gig. But, there is a flaw in the satellite, especially if u are relying on it for emergency comms. Storms. During a bad rain storm, the satellite drops out, sometimes for minutes at a time due to the rain absorbing the signal, so a backup of Ham Radio may be worth looking into. It resyncs fast enough after the worst of the storm has passed, and its not much of an issue as I just put my phone outside on the veranda and hot spot to it, but be aware that satellite comms isn't 100% guaranteed.
