If it comes to it, I'm sure that I can model something to attach to your frame

Try a leading camping shop for the rivets you should get the die in the pack with them, otherwise try a craft shop that does leather supplies as well

Ah, that could also be an interesting thread. Our bug-out vehicles and how we got them ready for when SHTF (eg, storing a BOB or a mod etc etc). Go on then... Done

My current setup is a D23 Navara dual cab. I haven't done much on the mods to it as yet.. Just standard outback setup.. AT tyres Bullbar Spotties/LED light bar Hard canopy on the tray. When I had the canopy installed, I had the guys run some large power cables as well as accessory wires through the chassis rails into the tub so that I can eventually get around to installing a small solar panel on the roof as well as have the accessory wires so I can run lights inside the canopy that 1 day I'll get around to sikaflexing to the roof lol Inside I keep a small but decent FAK, as well as a couple small cheap torches in different compartments. I also keep a glass breaker/digital tyre gauge in the centre console. I also have a UHF installed that I use when hunting/highway driving with a 2nd antenna installed for when I can get around to installing a 2nd radio. Under the back seat I keep a basic kit that includes maps, large clear bags (for water collection) signal flares, boating V-sheet, hank or paracord and jumper leads. Future plans include... Install a roof solar panel Long range fuel tank Hook up inside light to the canopy Install drawers in the ute that I can store a full GHB kit within and lock my rifles up in when I go hunting. I might have to upgrade the rear suspension as well as it sags pretty low when I have a trailer on it. (yes I did what I said I never would do and buy a gen 1 car, that hasn't had the series 2 or 3 factory upgrades on like the flash new rear suspension that comes on the series 3 D23 navaras now )

Just a general thread here to discuss your vehicle/BOV setup and the reasoning you have done this. You can discuss a GHB you might have stored in your car, or your pride and joy 4wd BOV, or even motorbike.

Na, more so the inner central Qld heat while sitting in the car is what does the damage. But it does have its uses, like when I used it to hold together the front end of my old car after I cleaned up a roo 2yrs ago on my way into town lol

Paracord, as said is very versatile and way more compact then carrying just 5m of regular 13mm rope for instance, even if you only use it to string a tarp or hootchie.
Duck Duct tape is very useful as well, especially for shutting up kids on long car drives...… But for I am to leave it in the car, the adhesive just melts and goes all sticky and stuff, same with 100mph tape.

As Pete said, if you want decent padded straps, post up a photo of the frame on the pack you mentioned and I'll have a look at it

Just letting everybody know that the opt out period for the electronic "my health" records starts tomorrow and you only have 3mths to select to opt out before you can't do it. This would be good for those who don't want different government agencies snooping at your records, especially now that mental health records are going to be under a lot more scrutiny around firearm licensing.. www.myhealthrecord.gov.au/for-you-your-family/howtos/opt-out

Like Peter, when I go out, I use my steel cap work boots, Mongrel AT's with side zip. I usually use my older boots for this job as they are well worn in and comfy to wear and walk distances in and I don't have to worry about getting funny looks at work with blood spilled over my boots from processing a carcass lol

For bushfire prevention, or at least to buy you more time, just make sure you clear the undergrowth out for 50m around the hut so that there is limited fuel load on the ground, maybe chop it and stack it in firewood piles
