Yes. That actually IS nice. What is/was the price? My eyesight not perfect ... are they rimmed cases? Still a ye olde .303? Or converted? Still would prefer a 98 mauser though! Converted to .308 of course. Mate someone's little project that popped up on my screen, still in original 303 I believe and a nice example of a compact rifle conversion for the field.

I just did an impulsive purchase, was only looking for a new cleaning rod and some ammo. Asked a small local dealer what rifles he has in .223, was looking for a Mossberg that is chambered for 5.56. Half an hour later after lots of jawboning he convinced me to purchase a Mauser .223 in stainless steel and then you get a free chainsaw?? It comes with a 5 rd mag, he also convinced me to purchase a 10 round mag and a muzzel break. It is going to end up costing me 2k with scope. Action is very smooth, some good German engineering. Have to move some money around and will be picking it up in week or two, will let you know how it shoots. Husqvarna 120 Mark II Chainsaw, valued at $249.00 www.osaaustralia.com.au/m18-stainless-chainsaw-giveaway/Rain, hail, storm, snow - for others this means bad weather, for the Mauser 18 Stainless this is its comfort zone. Thanks to its receiver and barrel made of stainless steel and the ultra robust synthetic stock it achieves results while others stay inside. Calibers: 223 Rem, 308 Win, 30-06 Sprg, 300 Win Mag Barrel Length: 56 cm for Standard calibers / 62 cm for Magnum calibers Overall Length: 106 cm for Standard calibers / 112 cm for Magnum calibers Weight: 3.1 kg Magazine Capacity: 5+1 Stock: Polymer 2- Component with Soft-grip inlays - Blac

spatial ... enjoy. I do like German engineering. Thanks, I am actually excited to get it onto the range. I was joking with the shop owner that the chainsaw is an attachment for the end of rifle - zombie apocalypse, he did not see any humour in it. Why a free chainsaw is very puzzling.

I purchased what should have been a new German firearm two years ago ... then when I took delivery of it, discovered it was made in China. Not impressed. Although the rifle works fine.

I bought a set of kitchen knives yesterday, only because I was walking past the store, which is closing down, and $400 sets of knives were going for $60. And because they would come in handy at the coastal retreat. Anyway, the knives marked Quality German steel were made in China, as were the knives listed as Quality Japanese steel.

Yes. I think there is a lot of shifty action in the manufacturing world these days.
Probably it was German specification steel ... prepared in a Chinese metallurgical works using Australian iron ore.
The reason I wonder about that Mauser rifle is it has an identical looking trigger guard to my "German" (Chinese) Diana air rifle.
When I tried searching the M18 origins I can't find a definitive statement in any Mauser literature that it is "Made in Germany".
My old (early 90's) Anschutz literature has "Made in Germany" clearly written in it.

If good companies are going to shift their manufacturing to China, I will be looking for better companies that manufacture outside of China.

I thought you got a .223?
6.5 x 55 is also a pretty nice calibre.

Anyone had any experience with the Warwick WFA1? Have a choice of switching to .17 WSM semi or going to a straight pull in .223 for 3-gun and looking for opinions?!

The Warwick had some teething issues with the early batches but I think they have ironed them out now. But that hasn't stopped overactive states from banning them under "appearance" laws. The WFA1 is currently banned in WA and Tas

First was the semi-automatic .223 and that was banned. Then a lovely .223 pump and that was banned. Now on to this..... worldoftroy.com/wp-content/uploads/SAR-16_Right-1.jpgLets see if this gets banned. The NZ variant has a telescoping stock rather than folding. It was $1500 cheaper than the Warwick. Only put 50 rounds through it so far - but shoots straight and decent speed on the shots.
