This for there base security teams.. As a private mechanical contractor, on the bases I worked on, this on both sides of the border... Air bases can and routinely do some not so smart things.. However.... There base security teams, you don't mess with AT ALL... My 5 cents of experience.. Those Air Defence Guards (Adgies) are hard core. I knew one who thought he was harder than Special Forces. Until we put an ambush in on a dam being torn up by wild pigs one night and Mr Hard Core Adgie wanted a little wood fire to keep himself warm.

Nice compact, practical little piece this one! Would be good with a Red Dot as well, why not sight in both options given the .357 calibre.

Check this out. Henry lever riflesI like the tube mag set up and then being able to top off with a side gate. I reckon tube mags are safer to unload.

Nice little piece of practical workmanship good price too! Calibre/Item: 6.5x55 Make: Carl Gustaf Model: Scout Rifle - Sporterised 1896 M38 Mauser Action: Bolt repeater Scope: Forward mounted rail for dot or scope, rear peep / front post sight Condition: Good Comment: Almost giving this away. Stock like new, action very smooth, original trigger assembly. Good bore. Can't fault it, would make a great hunting gun, very accurate. Longer range than other scout rifles given calibre and sight radius. Sporterisation (sights, forward rail, stock, brake) all installed by gunsmith by previous owner. Selling to finance other hobby. Price is firm. Buyer to cover dealer transfer and freight.

How far is a .22LR fatal ? Interesting question.
See the the u tube video below for practical evidence, where a .22 is fired at ballistics gel from various ranges and they were looking for 'bounce back', where the bullet bounces off the target, IE: Non fatal.
Any guesses ?
Turns out that at any range that you can hit the target at, its capable of killing, yes, the humble .22lr can kill a human at over 500 meters, when hit at the right spot, accounting for drop, wind and in a decent weapon.
I cant even see out to 500 meters any more !

Its interesting that Americans so consistently buy American brand rifles. (Noting that the Browning X bolt is manufactured in Japan)
The Marlin 1895 I own looks more roughly made than my German designed but Chinese manufactured air-rifle. It works fine though.

Trivia.... I believe at one time. ......Some time after the Miami FBI shooting.. Early, mid 1990s??........ The FBI put out a study that the short answer was... Any round that would penetrate one thickness of 1/2" ply wood was a potential lethal hit...
Now distance depended on the round... A 22lr, compared to a 12 ga slug, compared to a 30-06 will all have there individual details to go with the specific caliber... Of course a lot depends on shot placement and such, but we are presuming this has to be confined to 8-9-10 ring hits...
This theory all being a kind of ...short answer... type rule of thumb... As seemingly open ended as this info seems to be I'm sure it can be torn apart 100 different ways.. I'm also sure there is more detailed info available now..

Neat piece of gear this one! Nice rifle over at Usedguns right now. I just reckon it needs a shorter barrel and ditch the bipod to make it more practical !

This has been my go to gun since I bought it. Ruger gsr in 308. In hindsight a ruger compact would have done the same job, or any other brand, but I love this gun. Detach mags are a pain in the arse, except for 1 buff which took 12 shots.
