We the frogs in our nice hot baths, look at China and say wow look at how bad it is with digital surveillance over there ... all the while not recognising the same surveillace and social scoring happening in Western society.

Our grubbyment and the ADF are gearing up for war with China. Enormous sums of money are being spent on new weapons, upgrading facilities, reducing our reliance on overseas suppliers. We are even working on our own hypersonic missiles.
We should all take heed of the warning and increase our own self reliance.

China has been doing this for a long time now. It's good to see politicians and security chiefs discussing it out in the open. Private companies rarely raise IP theft concerns publicly, as they know the CCP will cut them out of the China market if they do.

This is the closest I've felt like we've come to the boogaloo popping off in recent months, and it's getting my hackles up. I don't think that it's about to go bang right now. Unless there's an 'accident' with one of the live fire exercises around Taiwan with the US vessels in the area. But I do feel like they've set the stage for said 'accident' and I really REALLY hope the US has already planned for a response that doesn't escalate. But I won't be holding my breath because if China drops some rounds on a US vessel and damages it but doesn't sink it, I think there could still be a way out. They sink a tub and it's on for young and old though. |
