The litmus test will be to see what level of retribution taiwan receives after Pelosi leaves the island. This will dictate if the chinese have any real intentions of fighting a war and give the west an insight into what the future might look like with China in unrestrained form.

China has already given notice that starting today until sun they will be conducting live fire exercises in the oceans fully surrounding Taiwan www.abc.net.au/news/2022-08-04/china-begins-illegitimate-irresponsible-live-fire-military-drill/101301412

Yeah i saw a map of their current or proposed placement. Bullying Might be a ruse for invasion.. Just like Russia conducting military drills then invaded. Chinease economy has major problems, with each passing day Taiwan is getting more prepared and more weapons. US gov is seen as being weak, Now is the right time for China to take action.

This is, IMO, a prelude to what awaits us in the future. China will establish a military presence with island nations to our immediate north and north east, and when our grubbyment does anything that displeases them they will close our shipping lanes on the pretext of military exercises. See the sheeple panic buy then.

Yep, 100%. The second they lock down the straight of Taiwan with live fire 'exercises' no one is going through or over that major shipping space.

Twice a month I receive a newsletter through my email from Senator Marsha Blackburn (R) to her Tennessee constituents. This came up in the most recent.

Aust did a similar thing in banning Huawei from participating in the 5G rollout in Australia under national security concerns due to the close relationship with huawei and the CCP

treason trē′zən noun The betrayal of allegiance toward one's own country, especially by committing hostile acts against it or aiding its enemies in committing such acts. The betrayal of someone's trust or confidence. A betraying; treachery; breach of faith
When i see companies, individuals and politicians held accountable for this whole shitfight with China then i’ll start taking more notice of all the hullabaloo. Until then it’s BAU.

I went to Uni with, and worked with a lot of Chinese folks in the engineering field. I really don't think we have anything to fear from them from a technical perspective for a long time...if ever. Cheating and copying will only get you so far and a lot of pundits have already predicted they are maxed out in their current technical capabilities. Take that new stealth jet of theirs for example - their engines need a re-build after 20 hours and their commercial airline manufacturing capability has stalled for similar reasons over engine reliability and longevity. Most of the manufacturing they do is done on machinery that they have sourced from Germany (textiles, shoes manufacturing etc), they have been using it for years and haven't been able to reproduce/copy them effectively. They bought the huge German robotics company KUKA pretty much so they can get access to how companies that use it (BMW, Merc. VW Group - all the big Euro manufacturers) do their code for their assembly lines, but they still haven't been able to get their systems running like everyone else.
The engineers I worked with were stumped with average problems, if there wasn't a way to get out of it by passing the issue onto someone else (and then trying to take credit) or a quick fix by searching on Google then they were done. And I also have personal experience how the vast majority of them get through university!
It's not racial, it's cultural. Other Asian countries have great engineers - Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, etc. But the Chinese have a way to go before they get their head around heavy technical problems. Like I said...they way they do things now will only get you so far, it defiantly wont get you ahead of the pack.

You'd be mad to invest in the PRC these days. Anyone setting up a factory there is staring down the barrel of a stranded asset. Elon Musk I'm looking at you.
Many companies are now thinking seriously about no longer sending their employees to the PRC, if they haven't already done so. It's just too dangerous to do so.

That assessment is spot on. PRC companies are at pains to point out to you any machinery they got from Europe. Far less so, the locally built stuff. Their style is "why spend money in R&D when you can just steal it?" That worked well for them when they had a large, cheap work force and other countries weren't threatened by them. Now, the labour cost exceeds other asian nations and the available labour pool shrinks every year, whilst the burden of the elderly increases. This is what stopped the Japanese from becoming the worlds no.1 economy. The difference is that Japan has many friends, the PRC has none (maybe Cambodia) other than those that it can temporarily buy influence in.

China At The Crossroadscharleshughsmith.blogspot.com/2022/08/china-at-crossroads.htmlThe word "China" evokes strong emotions, so let's set it aside in favor of a simple syllogism: 1. Certain things matter in all economies. 2. China is an economy. 3. Therefore these certain things matter in China. Four things matter to all economies: 1. The flow of capital and talent in or out of an economy. 2. The productivity of that capital and talent. 3. The availability and cost of energy. 4. The stability of the primary foundation of the majority's wealth. Capital and talent flowing into an economy and being productively invested generates prosperity. Capital and talent squandered on unproductive speculation generates bubbles of phantom wealth that eventually pop, destroying the illusion of wealth.

Which reminds me of a destitute country known as the Weimar Republic about 90 years ago...

The epoch times isn't exactly a neutral news source. But the things going on in PRC farms are horrific and have been for quite some time.

This kind of behaviour fully justifies sanctions against the PRC.

"It's not our fault we sent live missiles over a country full of innocent people, they made us do it..." 😑 Just like North Korea did to Japan. The difference is that the world actually did something about NK, but we do nothing about the CCP.
