we could go down many rabbit holes on this one. There seem to be a few coincidences like the recent passing of the cash legislation. They said we’d never go to negative interest rates but not 6 months later it”s knocking in the door.
The vibe for me is the sheep are waking and realising that the world can be a nasty place when the chips are down. My brother last christmas argued the benefits of a global world in the fact that it helps prevent wars and is good for people. He was one of the first people i know that started panicking. I can see some moderation of peoples political ideologies. I see a more nuanced way forward that if we get it right could lead to a very significant change to our lives for the positive. I suspect he hard headed desire for business as usual will prevail and we will ignore the aviary full of dead canaries in the coal mine.

Yes it is a conspiracy to stop families reuniting and spending time together. We will realise what it is like to live again with complete families and less work pressures. As a result we will be reluctant to go back to the old system which is demonstrated itself to be broken. This is a glimpse of what life could be like if we instigate real change and leave the economic ball and chain behind.

I buy work pants from vinnies and i have a pair that i would not ever sell.

That’s it, sacrifice comfort early for long term gains. I spent 10 years working in remote areas to get ahead with career and finance, loved it but it was hard at times. I left all my mates on the coast and when i returned they had done nothing, been nowhere and most are just screwups or manage an aisle in Aldi or mow lawns. I told them there were excellent opportunity out west n up north but was told “nah it’s not green enough or nah i’ll miss my friends etc etc” Now i look out at this everyday while drinking my morning coffee. sorry about image i don’t know how to rotate it😂

Old people have wealth for a reason, they have worked all their lives for it. Some sniffy little millennials need to be smacked upside the head and have a cup of concrete stuffed down their whiny gullets.

I've learned that the current Government has no goddamn idea what to spend money on during a health crisis. You'd think they'd be focusing on hiring more nurses and installing more hospital beds and respiratory assistance equipment. I suspect we're all going to learn about their foolishness the hard way. Tax breaks for business may not mean much in a total lock-down when no income is being made anyway! Pretty cheap promise to keep that one! It’s a stupid way to blow a surplus. I’d take pink batts over that cash splash any day.

I like the last question. I think we went straight to heard mentality when a few locations in Sydney went ballistic and started panicking, the rest followed suit unfortunately. As far as im concerned panic buying was always going to happen. THe question is should it be nipped in the bud to avoid all this kerfuffle?
I also learned how seemingly normal people become shitbags quite quickly.

I was looking at the member list just yesterday, stalking my good mate Dr Henry, who hadn't logged in since October, which is surprising given the current national focus on prepping for Corona. He has been very quiet in the national discussion. Anyways, there seems to be hundreds of members not active for 3 or 4 years. Wonder how many of them will reappear. He has probably already bugged out lol. Considering his contacts, maybe he could go from locust to asset and provide some of his interesting intel?

Totally agree with that. I plan on having thousands of kgs of meat walking around soon. But alas the rain has driven cattle prices very high. i just missed out. It’s good for the poor buggers that hang on to their cattle though.i hope they make some decent coin.
In saying that Basmati rice is actually pretty good and has a low GI. I think most indian eateries use this type of rice.

Ha. You must use a lot more than my family. Two deep, one shelf 2-2 1/2 meters - 24 x 18 rolls 💩💩💩 7 in the household at the moment. Missus says we use roughly around 30 - 40 rolls a week, give or take.
so they are those big 48 roll packets, times that by 18 and id say it would be close 5 - 7 meters squared maybe?
That is an astonishing amount of TP.

I have a contact that provides advice to the health ministers and writes legislation for QLD gov. She informed me that there will be a 4 month disruption to medicines in Australia. Not sure why 4 months as this saga seems more like a protracted campaign than a brief blip on the radar.

I wonder how this virus thing will impact fuel prices in the short term if half of China are not driving their vehicles? We'll drop the prices by a few cents per litre while the price drop per barrel continues to plummet. As per usual we won't get the full discount and not even know that we should be recieving this. I think WTI is $50-ish US and tapis $60. I love Australia but gee sometimes we act like flyblown daggy arsed sheep. We let the flies settle and allow the maggots like multi nats and pollies to eat us from the arsehole in. Yet we fight for the rights of small minorites and sometimes take a stand against the big boys. If they kick the hornets nest too much there will be an awakening. Watch this space. Not sure what it will look like but buckle in if it happens.

I think this sort of stuff could be considered by the prepper as protein is at times hard to come by in austere conditions. Crickets can feed my chooks.
What i don’t like is all this guilt placed on meat and animal products i’m being bombarded with by msm. I’m meant to give up steak but where is the talk about everyone giving up their tech? each new ipad or phone allows another to essentially go to land fill. how about we stop producing junk throwaway shit so i can eat a rib eye in peace? Or dare i say let’s stop runaway population growth.

Bump. To be honest i’m nervous about this coronavirus. China are just so untrustworthy and i can’t rely on anything they say about this issue. The escalation is alarming.
