www.archeryshop.com.au/p/8956757/pse-stinger-x-compound-bow-kit.htmlim thinking of getting into a bit of bowhunting and some target shooting with hunting bows. i like the look of this one bit to be honest i don't have a clue about bows. quiet kills strikes me as being and advantage in a SHTF senario. one thing concerns me is i do 't want to loose a $15 arrow and $20dollar broadhead with a through and through or have it shatter to pieces on a rock. any idea in how long they last after repeated shooting?

I'm all for Castle Law. The fact that the intruder turns away from me and starts to run when I emerge from my front door and find him trying to break in shouldn't prohibit me from catching him and tossing him over the railing and off the deck. The fact that he is fleeing shouldn't matter, especially when the local police claim can't even be bothered to investigate most thefts. Another beautiful aspect of the south australian 'home invasion' exception to reasonable proportionality. "What is required is that the defendant genuinely believed that the victim was comitting or had just committed a home invasion"wow i'm so close but so far.....just 50km from that reasonable law. its like good men and women have their hands tied behind their backs in their own homes. the perp enters your house with full intend to harm you ( if they are armed) and has the advantage of surprise and preparation for an altercation. but we as law abiding citizens have all our firearms locked away and no justification to store a baseball bat near the door. i'll continue to vote accordinly to end nanny state laws it cant go on. ill stop being as concerned when i see more proactive policing. i can see SJWs bleating about that too.

www.archeryshop.com.authis is where im going when i get more organised. ill take a rifle over a bow any day but they are fun and have their place in my preps and are quiet. i was leaning towards a PSE compound kit. i dont want to go too far over $700-800. ive got a 55# recurve but it is a challenge to shoot. its a more instinctive bow rather then set, wait and release. i use a back tension release on my mates bow and i think it assists with good form. bowhunting is a whole new world.

i'm going to so the same ziggysdad. i'll get some extra bulk foods and fuel just in case.
while i don't expect major problems initially i do think the US is in a fairly rapid decline20-30 years before chaos. their infrastructure is old, their debt untenable, their agression over the top. it would not take much to tip the balance. they could claw back but that would mean the end of globalism and free trade wouldn't it. apparently Trump-et said to a buch of big company executives that if they move their businesses to mexico he would slap a 35% tarriff on their products so they would not sell a thing in the US. i like that.

lucky. in the right conditions spot overs are a killer/property destroyer. those pilots did a good job not to damage your structure considering how close the fire got and how fast it was probably moving.

several people in victoria died in their home made shelters in 2013. i donti believe that article. an open door means death by smoke inhalation. maybe they got lucky? the best defence is a good fire protection zone and as frostbite observed don't build among the scrub. grass can be just as bad. fires can spread much quicker in a grass fire then normal eucalypt forest.

i'd like to use them for food storage during mouse plagues. the little buggers chew through plastic like its butter.
$10each is a steal, or should that be steel. i'd like to get some at that price but freight charge would probably kill that idea.

those federals are very good on medium sized game they are much better than the equivelant winchesters. they pack a bit more punch, but i'm not sure if its the projectile or powder. $1.43 per round is not too bad from the local GS.
to answer the question i'd go ballistic tip on zombies any day of the week. or maybe FMJ for mulitple penetration.

first reaction would be disappointment. more war mongering and the way i feel at the moment we (US and allies) are not the good guys(in syria at least). i'm in good financial position, three years ahead on repayments and loads of savings although most is in the bank. i need more cash on hand. $5k sounds about right. food ok but water so-so.
i'd like to think i could react with precision and immediately spend up in non perishables and equipment and supplies before it hits home to the masses.
i'd lose my job unless reassigned, but have skills that are in demand or could be used for the greater good. i'd struggle with the stay or go. i could go back to parents place and get into primary production but that is a long way to go. i could make it as i have bulk fuel storage but i'd be leaving most of my stuff and my house unattended. i'd be ok for at least 6-12 months unless inflation goes crazy. i might have the option of working for food and board on one of the many stations around my area.

i don't use them cause im not loyal to any chain store. i go where the prices are cheapest or buy on line or increasinly buying from local shops. i now get good discounts at my local GS.

im focussing on increasing food storage, better water (filtration) options and working out where to bug out to if things go pear shaped. i' m trying to sort out the camper trailer so i can have enough food, fuel and water for a month of bad times. im very much the nomad if tshtf which is not good in my opinion. i want my own block and to have it set up as best as i can. the only problem it is going to be far away from where i am now. its all aspriational at the moment.
