The only thing with socios, become a threat to the group and they'll kill you themselves. Or manipulate someone else to do it for them. But threats are always eliminated.

Often enough in survival situations the group is essential to the success of the socio themselves. So actually they are more inclined to do anything needed to ensure the survival of the group.

As for pre modern hunting, sling or slingshot for small prey like bunnies and birds, spear, dogs and bow and arrow are still highly effective for anything too big for a pebble to kill. Our forefathers were able to feed themselves this way so it wouldn't take us long to adapt to being proficient hunters again imho. Then you add snares, fishing and traps..... I can't imagine us going hungry. Not for meat anyhow. Lol

Well its believed in some circles that sociopaths (the current popular term) and those with sociopathic tendencies are more common than you think because they're quite adept at blending in. Not all are loners, many do indeed play well in groups but are far more likely to be the leaders. They are also extremely protective of those they consider friends, allies and assets. I actually have a few friends who are sociopaths. They aren't always the violent scary people we are lead to believe.

Call me callous but I would hardly bat an eyelid at telling others to leave or be turned into food for the dogs. Children perhaps, I might give them a days supplies if it's not cutting into ours much. That said I might however teach them how to find some food for themselves, set snares etc. And even my family doesn't know I prep with exactly that purpose. I've given them many hints to look into preparing for themselves, if they choose to remain in the matrix that is their problem not mine.

You could do it similar to bonsai perhaps, cut the tips of branches when you want to restrict length and force branching. Like trimming the trunk inhibits it's height.
