I’ve noticed that too. But since our labelling laws are so crap it is called corn syrup not high fructose corn syrup which is a more appropriate name for it.

So does that mean every service member will reaffirm their oath to defend the Second Amendment? They might have to shoot them selves to defend it.

They are the ultimate firearms precursor. Print a firearm, bipod, high cap mag, silencer and off you go and do your merry little thing.

Not really, well not for satellite anyway. Compared to the competition and the indicated performance and no cap on data it’s likely to be pretty popular. When you up the data, prices quickly increase with satellite internet providers. Astrophotography equipment starts at several thousand dollars. I'd call that expensive. There are places where you can hire an online telescope, but that is still at least $100/hr. Gotya. i was referring to elons new satellite internet. I gots no idea about astrophotography so i’ll take you word for it.

Ive been trying a type of trap that catches the rodent in a square tube, which is balanced with an open flap at one end. When the little s..t goes in to feast on the peanut butter, the tube falls back, closing the door and trapping it. Then you can ley it go, feed t to the chooks or drown it etc. They seem to work well and the beastie doesn't suffer with a broken back etc as in conventional traps. I'm here for moral support, ignore the gun. Sounds interesting, got a pic? A broken back sounds much better than the alternative, from a mouse perspective anyway.

OPSEC.
How do you disguise all those aerials and bits and bobs to reduce the chance of unwanted attention and inspections?
I have to admit you’ve got me mildly interested in this MWaT, thanks for this info. However even though simplified instructions are given, i think i’d be better off learning hands on to visually contextualise all these aspects.
What about VHF? any advice there?

I agree. Those beasts are true 4x4 and can go almost anywhere.I looked into a good overnight set up for a horse and there are a lot of suppliers out there selling good gear. Still they are unpredictable and that could mean a nasty surprise if shtf.

I was surprised with a crop of golden bantam corn this week. It sprouted, grew, flowered and matured in about 10 weeks. It caught me off guard and went to starch pretty darn quick. Most,of my crop is now going to next years seed or maybe tortillas if i can work out how to make them. They looked pretty scabby compared to the hybrid breeds but i think they are less “hungry” requiring less water and nutrients. This probably makes them an ideal staple for the homesteader.
The hippy organic farmer down the road has had his paddock idle and in cover crop since late December. Wise move, he has avoided trying to grow while the insects are in large numbers

Steak should feature in more conversation.
Steak is full of iron. Iron is needed in large amounts to make haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is critical for oxygenation of the body. Your brain needs lots of oxygen.
moral. Don’t trust vegans, their brains are starved of oxygen.

I’m an electrical contractor and we have done really well throughout the pandemic and recession so far. Labor is our biggest issue as no one seems to want to work here. We can find experienced electricians that are lazy and only move for the highest wages, but they just aren’t worth it. The kids that aren’t experienced make more staying at home on the couch right now. They are pushing for the 15.00$ an hour minimum wage here and that will just make it harder for small businesses like ours. It’s hard to justify a non experienced helper for that wage. One thing I really have noticed is the cost of food and regular grocery supplies have gone up a lot. One hundred dollars doesn't get much in a grocery cart now. I’m fortunate to be debt free with a good income now, but I really do feel for the young people starting out My kids are all grown now but I would really hate to have to feed 4 kids in today’s financial climate. Farking hell. You wouldn't get an electrician to scrawl a quote on a piece of toilet paper here for that money. Commercial electricians bill out at around $120/hr for a full time job and are paid about half that. To come to your house for a small job, expect to pay nearly double that. And in Aust you can never utter a negative word about the salt of the earth tradies that work here. 90% of them are rip off trash.

Nice. They are a good Aussie business and stock a range of products to suit just about all your homestead or hobby farm requirements. This makes me like them even more. They must have had a name change as they were Oz farmer.

Fun Fact: YouTube has now put one of my favorite Rage Against The Machine videos in the "Must sign in" category. A year ago ... anyone could view it any time they liked. Now they are keeping tabs. And as the title of that video says: "Wake Up!" They need to change their name. the “you” in youtube is no longer applicable. How about sucktube as a collaboration between youtube and mark suckerberg? Both are fine authoritarian monopolies.

I’m not well versed on this topic either but i reckon blind freddy could tell you that this is a good example of what has been going on for years with other companies. There are big risks doing this sort of thing like not meeting established business goals such as making some profit or opening more Gamestops. This will lead to poor performance when it comes reporting time. Poor performance “should” lead to lower stock prices. So they have raised the capital now he “market” wants to see how they will make more money which probably won’t happen.
This is where i think toxic capitalism comes into play. An uber rich person dumps enough money into a stock to get the market excited then sell off early once the stock rises enough. There was no intention to improve the company or make new stuff, just a suitcase of money to artificially inflate numbers to make a quick dollar.
This has happened with property too in Australia. In the early days of our property insanity Sydney and Melbourne went off. The large cohort of oldies living there retired, sold up and went to places like northern NSW. They could buy upto 5, yes 5 houses up here for the sale price of their Sydney home. Many did this and in the space of two years property more than doubled. They inflated their own market and can make mega profit if they want to sell. Many just rent their other places for mega rents or air BnB for gross amounts of profit. Brinkworth did this in western NSW along the darling. Desert blocks went from $5 to $40 an acre once he started buying up. Locals could not pay that much and could not expand their own grazing businesses.
So my kids will never likely grow up the way i did. Wankers like chris hemsworth and his ilk have moved in and again pushed local prices higher. The demographics did a 180 and the culture of the place is a repellant to me. It’s Good for you if you like high end cafes, bakeries, tapas bars, plastic people etc instead of a good local fish n chip shop, general store and a few derros waiting to but a 3 pack of VB kingbrowns at 10am. I’d never let them buy into that world. There are heaps better places in Australia then fakesville coastal towns on the north coast.

I think Oz farmer imports them but i don't know the cost. They can be pre ordered according to them.
Tim, thanks for the feedback. Most of the freeze dryers i have come across were commercial varieties and were mega big bucks. This one seemed to it the bill but if they are not reliable and can be repaired i’m not interested.

Here is a quick link to those that might want to try freeze drying food. It’s not cheap but you might have a few other preppers willing to pitch in to ease the cost ($2200-3500). freeze dryer

For anyone who is not yet using it, go to www.duckduckgo.com for your searches. Much less stalky than google. I’ve been using it for 12 months with no issues what so ever. Red pill, blue pill, your choice.

the beginings of the socialist expiriments during the 20th century indeed were motivated by trying to improve life for the masses but ended up delivering untold suffering, economical deprivation and political tyranny. Just have a look at the soviet union and russia now. And I'll say again ... the Soviet Union, Communist China et. al. were epic fails for the mass population due to Authoritarianism. Not Socialism. Authoritarianism is why China will collapse from within at some point even if the rest of the planet does nothing. Authoritarianism is why feudalism and Papal Power were pretty shit for the great majority of people and why those systems eventually collapsed from within in Europe too. The best societies have a healthy mixing of socialist policies with capitalism and suppressing Authoritarian tendencies in its leadership. I agree. This is why we need to really scrutinise policy related to the covid response. There are some legitimate concerns with Victorias response in comparison to say NSW. WA is a bit out there too.
