Ok, for those more knowledgeable on storing things like this, what's my best option with milk? For powdered milk for example, am I best off buying tins and leaving them sealed (concerned about the amount of air in them) or buying the bags (same issue) and vac packing them with o2 absorbers? What about condensed milk, both sweetened and unsweetened?
Thanks in advance ^_^

i believe its something like 2/3 things we eat require bees for pollination :/ and thats without the countless plant species that need them to reproduce, without them we are frankly screwed... only grasses, ferns and conifers basically would survive...

yep, this is why i started prepping to begin with, too many things adding up, too quickly to not become serious. i dont know what will be the straw that breaks the camels back and the shtf, but its becoming all too likely that its getting closer :/ and that our own species is a big part of it...

Still moving yes, but slower than it was only 20 years ago by a long shot. While 20 years is a long time to us, it's almost a heartbeat in the earth's natural rhythms.

That's exactly it Phen, most people are expecting it to be a sudden world wide snap freeze. The extreme weather has been identified to be a product of the climate change. Not Obama (as some morons in America apparently think lol), abs regardless of the cause the evidence is that things are changing rapidly. If the poles also shift at a vulnerable time, as the magnetic field is also weakening, I wonder if things will compound, causing more destruction? Regardless I believe our real worry in all of this is mass hysteria if things start changing noticably by the average folks.

The odds of it being so sudden are slim to nil, you have to remember that for entertainment sake they have to sensationalize.
There is proof that even in the last ice age the equator was more like current temperate climates. So an ice age event would not mean global extinction. Just that things would get much much colder overall, forcing tropical species to have to adapt or die, and temperate species migrate or die. And yes even in an ice age there are still summer/winter cycles.

It's possible. The oceanic conveyors have been slowing at an alarming rate globally.

While I like this concept, blending in, I also do things that would make no person link me to being a pepper. Honestly I've had people think in a drug dealer a few times because I live in what is essentially a ghetto, have a guard dog, nice family car etc. I have different sides of my life and they never mingle.

Well if I delayed leaving, considering my neighborhood, this is a very tall possible threat fire my family.
I'm no Rambo but I have more ways to finish or drop a man than with a gun. In a house most weapons they have are ineffective ( in mobs around here rifles, poles and knives are the average), mine are not. I'd come in from behind, take them by surprise, shoot any that have caught on and are a greater danger or who themselves are armed, and if they were smart they would withdraw. If not, well so be it.
Then I would ensure the family mobilized, and without saying we would also move out.

I'm with ResQ. Water, which also brings wildlife, away from people. Multiple ways in and out.
The main deal breaker would be people. Lol

Well mine aren't nursing age anymore, 10, 6 and 3, but I wear the 3 year old, and music is generally good at calming them and distracting them I've found. Say if in a bug out situation, anything that's familiar and has good memories, say, a toy they love, lollies, music
