I have a Goretex bivvy bag, can't remember the brand but I would have got it from Paddy Pallins. I really only use it inside my tent to enclose my 150-gram sleeping bag on cold nights, but have on occasion used it in the open and also with my "half tent". Something I designed years ago to provide shelter for just my top half. I can't look at this without picturing a bloody big tongue

He gotta, he was sent back to the time right at the first book, he would only have his fingers chopped off in the second book, if he carries his wounds and problems every time he "reboots" he would simple die from old age..... Also Roland does not remember the previous incarnations so I imagine he would be confused that he seems to be missing limbs and doesnt remember losing them.....

I have been fangirling about this for a while now.
Just as a pedantic little aside, it isnt technically an adaptation, if you have read the series and remember how it ends, you will see this is a sequel to the original series. This explains (canonically) all the various changes including why Eddie and Susan arent in it, why Roland is black (However who could complain about Idris Elba playing a cowboy), and most importantly why he has the Horn of Eld
Happy to discuss more with anyone as I havent had a good chat about a fictional universe for a loooong time

Hey Guys, Sorry it took so long to get back here, this is the phone we sell at work, usually for $39, but it comes on special for $9 with suprising regularity www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/telstra-cruise-t126Seems like a good little basic phone and is missing most of the bells and whistles that are required for a lot of snooping No wifi, bluetooth or NFC at all, 2G and 3G only, also I cant seem to find any indication it has GPS capabilities which is a huge bonus

This is exactly what me amd mrs reth did. We moved from Perth to a small rural town, i moved the business out here and we have ended up buying 5 acres about 30km from town.
It has easily been the best decision of my life? and while the business has faltered due to me not taking population density into account enough, I managed to find a reasonable job and am happier here on a 'normal' wage as opposed to being on 100k+ in the city.
As alreafy mentioned the house prices can eadily make up for the difference in jncome anyway, our place was 210k with a 4x2 and our rates are only 550 a year. A sinilar place within 100km of Perth would run probably around the 650-700k mark last time i checked, and while the land isnt as fertile as down south and it gets damn hot, the place and people are fantastic.

... I believe that even after we enter an officially "cashless" state, there will still be plenty of cash changing hands. It's human nature. The question is what form will that "cash" take if they recall all the currency. If there is no recognised "coin" to use what will we use? I can only see barter and that has many problems. PMs have a good chance here, also things with known 'values' ie ammunition and whatnot. I am personally lookjng to barter more once i have more animals and food grown here. The pigs for example I would happily swap for lambs etc (2 good lambs for a weaned pig) $$ value may be off but everything is worth what the other is willing to pay :-)

I aam notnsure if there are differences between WA and QLD cyclones in terms of strength bht when i was a young fella we had plenty of cyclones in the pilbara region and we all had a fairly laid back attitude to them.
Everyone had the essential supplies already and the biggest run was on the bottleshop before blue alert became yelllow and you are not allowed on the streets anymore.
Do they have that system in QLD? Over here they had a system of Blue alert if the cyclone was 24 hours away, yellow for 12 hours and red for "oh shit, its here"

in WA we can obly buy ammunition for calibres that we own.
Also i am 99% sure borrowing a firearm is a massive no-no here as, according to wapol, you are technically carrying a firearm you arent registered for without the owner within proximity.
however one caveat (which has come in handy) is that if you email a copy of your licence you can get someone else to pick up ammunition on your behalf, as long as they have a letter from you stating thats what they are doing and including your licence details etc.
All these laws the other states are worried about getting we have had for a long time, aside from the cat h being only for olympic sports obviously

accuracy claims aside. i do like the concept. less moving parts and things to break is never a bad thing. also (for me) fixing or replacing electronics appeals more than replacing firing pins etc.
as a proof of concept i quite like it.

We have a couple of days left of the cooling off period before we are completely committed to purchasing land. It is about 2.5 acres with only .5 acre cleared, but that is pretty much the size we could afford for the location. It will have a house added ASAP and be where we live. We'll put in food plants permaculture style. As a few of you have purchased land before, I thought I might be able to get some advice. I'm just wondering what checks we can do or need to do in these couple of days? Apart from obvious things like location, size, etc, what do we need to check? Is there something like the building inspection when you buy a house, for when there is no house on the block? Or how do I get soil tested? Any suggestions? Ssoil testing can be done at local rural supply places, some do it onsite and others send it away. Just remember that no matter what it is, you can 'fix' it with enough time amd energy. My soil for example is made up of a clay so heavy you could make pots out of it, it needs some work but if you look around there are options that are labour intensive as opposed to $$ intensive for improving any soil quality. Also dont let the guys at the supply shops talk u into fertiliser or whatevet until you have done your own research, especially if you're going the permaculture route

Just a quick side question. When using a fridge as a faraday cage, is there any benefit to having it plugged in and switched off so it utilises the houses earthing system? A normal gpo only switches off the active so the earth cable should still be connected to the house.

That youtube channel has been a great watch, i am 135 videos into their playlist of 331 and it has been incredibly educational.
While ww1 and ww2 have always been of interest to me this channel, by doing a week to week format has reaĺly opened my eyes to some of the incredibly incompetant decisions made by senior command.
Those poor bastards on both sides just got thrown into a meat grinder for no other reason than some old blokes couldnt accept that times have changed.
